K'Alexi Shelby is one of Chicago's true heroes and one of the pioneers of the famous musical city's world-renowned house sound. He has penned a long list of classic house and techno tracks and is just as notorious for his DJing ability. He has brought his raw, uncompromising sounds to clubs all over the world and blends house, disco and techno with his own style. He does the same on his label TecSoul and once again here has cooked up a vital new single.

'Chicago' is a lively and explosive track with smart and iconic samples, atmospheric spoken words and lashings of acid. It's a blend of house and disco packed with knowing references that bubble and boil for 10 enthralling minutes. Only someone with the musical understanding of Shelby could pull off a track as adventurous and impactful as this.

Afro Acid label head DJ Pierre is a fellow dance music icon. He is the founding father of the acid sound, and someone whose bristling tracks are some of the most visceral in house. He is now based in Atlanta but hails from Chicago and brings all that heritage to this standout remix. It's a quick and kinetic house groove with the original's melodic refrain intact but a smoother groove. Smart filter use and teasing vocal samples ensure it keeps dancers on their toes throughout.

''All The Colours' was a concept that came about from Andy Ash bringing together his music and visual art in an attempt to try and identify the common ground between the two. In both mediums, Andy attempts to convey the full range of human identity – at first you see and hear euphoria and playfulness, but look a little closer and you will also notice anger, sadness and tension. On this album, Andy approaches house music as the vehicle to convey many different feelings. These tracks are designed to be played on the dancefloor and bring people together – this is what house music has always been about!  
 
The whole album was made over a two-year period in Andy’s home studio using a mixture of analogue hardware and samples. During this period, Andy was suffering with some significant mental health problems and this album represents his attempts to channel this energy into something productive. This is also the first time Andy has worked with vocalists, bringing a new dimension to his music. Whether it is the old school inspired 'The sound' which features vocalist Erik Rico, or the deep and moody 'I’m Here' featuring Liverpool vocalist Amber Kuti, this album brings many different shades of house music to the table! A real statement!'

New York DJ, producer and Maya Records founder Joeski returns to Crosstown Rebels in December. Jah Unite pays tribute to Joeski's long-running appreciation for Reggae dub with two tracks of stripped-back house with a roots twist.

Joeski explains why Jah Unite is a personal release. "Reggae dub has been a big influence on my sound. From my early days listening on the radio to the studio and laying down drums, it inspires a lot of the dub house and techno I create." The title track opens with minimal drums and a saxophone-led melody. Joeski stitches reggae vocals across the breakdown, evoking a gorgeous, sun-kissed soundscape. On In This Life, the producer layers snappy percussion with distant drum rolls and laidback keys while Reggae vocals wind through the atmosphere. An irresistible groove.

Brooklyn-born Joeski began his DJing journey in 1989, honing his craft throughout the 90s in some of the finest New York-based clubs like Limelight, Tunnel and The Roxy. Today, Joeski is an established producer, selector and boss of the long-running label Maya. He's released classic to contemporary sounds on labels like NRK, Ministry of Sound, Defected, Bedrock, Nervous, Cajual and KMS, further adding to his credibility as a critical talent in the house and techno realms. As a DJ, Joeski has performed across the Americas and Canada, building a loyal fanbase. Although he's been on the scene for over three decades, Joeski doesn't rest on his laurels. He constantly evolves his approach while staying grounded in the process. In other words, he's a real one.

As part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Get Physical Music, the label is to reissue Roland Clark's stone-cold classic 'I Get Deep' in the form of the original acapella and two new remixes. One comes from Rework and one from Roland Leesker, whose version is also included in the full and upcoming '20 x Get Physical' compilation.

Clark's original from the year 2000 is one of house music's most iconic tracks; an anthem that is adored by fans across the world for its irresistible groove and almost spiritual vocal charm. Remixing it is a huge task but one that German pair Rework are more than up to. Michael Kuebler and Daniel Varga are scene mainstays with 20 years of experience behind them and credits on the likes of Visionquest, Playhouse and their own Exlove label. Their ‘Rework Anyway Remix’ is filled with squelchy synths, trippy FX and a driving groove. The vocal is teased out and redeployed in freaky fashion as the taught bass and disco-fired stabs keep things moving in an electric fashion.

Then comes a truly standout remix from Get Physical Music main man, Roland Leesker. His small but well-formed discography is packed with timeless house music and he has also put together the forthcoming '20 x Get Physical' compilation with his usual aplomb. This remix finds him on a tech house tip, with textured drums and smart filters building tension throughout what is a drawn-out and captivating track. The vocal remains iconic but the mood is more intense and the synths more dramatic. This is a monster remix that is sure to be setting dance floors alight for months to come.

Last of all is Clark's original acapella which remains as spine-tingling and potent as ever. These are two timely and tasteful updates of a much-loved slice of deep house music.

Cristina Lazic returns to Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion for her three-track ‘Secrets’ EP, featuring Shar.  

Still young in her electronic music career, with influences dating back to her early years playing piano, DJ/producer,  composer and musician Cristina Lazic has steadily emerged onto the global landscape across the past five years.  Born in Italy and raised in London before returning to Milan, where she currently resides, her formative years have  helped with crafting her own shades of house music, with high-profile appearances from Hï in Ibiza through to Get  Lost in Miami and Exit Festival in Serbia. Releasing on both Crosstown Rebels and Rebellion, late February  welcomes an impressive return to the latter, bringing three fresh productions across her ‘Secrets’ EP. 

“As they say, ‘things always come in threes’, and I am excited to present you my third EP out on Rebellion.  Through this new release, I continue diving into topics that resonate with me. I believe I have developed a  ‘sound signature’ and use my productions to tell my story and voice my experiences.  

As usual with my music, each track has a meaning. ‘Secrets’, co-created with Shar, aims to raise some  curiosity in people’s minds, reminding them that life can be more interesting if some things remain untold -  especially in a world where people overshare on social media platforms. I was inspired to compose  ‘Welcome To The Circus’ after playing at Get Lost Miami last year: a visionary, crazy experience where  everyone is welcome - again, the text is co-written with Shar. And finally, ‘Wallball’ is inspired by sports  sessions I have recently attended. Out of all exercises, wallballs were the most difficult ones for me. I  wanted to flip a challenging task and turn it into a positive memory, this track - more minimal, groovy, a  club banger to have people dancing - now delivers uplifting vibes.” - Cristina Lazic. 

Opening via the hypnotic and winding sonics of title cut ‘Secrets’ featuring Shar, the three tracks across the  package balance light and dark moments for a rich and expansive offering. ‘Welcome To The Circus’, also  alongside Shar, fuses resonant vocals with evolving electronics and sweeping synth lines before the rolling and  refined ‘Wallball’ sees Lazic step out solo to shape up proceedings in emphatic fashion.
