Belly Dance Services (@bellydanceservices)garnishes late summer season with VARIOUS WORLDWIDE III – it’s the third VA chapter featuring five different artists from across the globe. 

The third track comes from berliner HEIDENREICH (@therealheidenreich) featuring singer OBENOHNI. THE OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING is not just the name of the song, it’s also what this indie stepper musically stands for. A psychedelic voyage driven by sudden suspense, and also the intense vocal elements make you feel like in a interactive dance cabaret.

Estamos más que contentos de arrancar con nuestra serie de compilaciones, justo después de experimentar una pandemia a nivel global que terminó cambiando por completo nuestra realidad y cómo interactuamos en ella, decidimos que es tiempo de poner la piedra angular a NATIVO. Buscando promover un espacio seguro y nuevas perspectivas para la música electrónica al norte de México, con un enfoque que de prioridad a la parte musical y siempre del lado de las inquietudes artísticas, el equipo creativo; Roliva, Prince Terrible, Fausto y Chinosynth identificaron la necesidad de crear una plataforma en donde todo esto sucediera en la región.

Celebrando el inicio de la travesía, hemos preparado un compilado con 9 tracks por parte del equipo creativo y otros artistas invitados como; Alex Aguayo, Undefined Pattern, Sixtoagusto, Technicism y Velax. La compilación registra el nacimiento de este viaje. Sonidos nuevos considerando y honrando las referencias del pasado, narrando así un nuevo espectro de posibilidades. El volumen 1 es una aventura sónica para contemplarse y al mismo tiempo disfrutarse de inicio a fin.

Duro’s co-founder Moises Ramirez aka Moisees is back with a new EP that follows up his excellent remix of Mijo’s “THXTASY” and his last release, Train Station Philosophy. Remixes from Middle Sky Boom and Younger Than Me complete this standout 20th package.

Mexico City artist Moisees has been building up a fine catalogue of edgy, machine made disco tracks that are full of alluring darkness. He’s garnered international press support as a result, as well as becoming someone DJ’s looking for an edge often reach for.

Opener ‘Midnight Raider’ is perfectly named: a late night tune with a sneaking sense of movement that roams through a desolate cityscape. Freaky synths and filtered sounds are unusual and draw you in. His other original is the brilliantly original ‘The Death of Hope’, a psyched-out deep techno cut with disco colour and astral synths. It’s a track that slithers ever deeper down the rabbit hole and melts your mind with a hypnotic lead synth sound that sounds like little else.

Middle Sky Boom is label boss of Unterman and based in Tel-Aviv. His music has come on Rotten City Records and Days of Being Wild and here he flips ‘Midnight Raider’ into a spooky, mid-tempo chugger with freaky vocals and glassy synths. It’s brilliantly weird and wonderful.

Remixing ‘The Death of Hope’ is Younger Than Me from Milan, an associate of Tusk Wax, Bordello A Parigi and XXX. His vital version echoes with a late night mystery. Phased bass and percolating riffs ride up and down the scale as icy hi hats add to the infectious groove. Weatherall et al will surely approve.

These are four fresh, unusual tracks that bring plenty of new ideas to the alternative disco world.

Having discovered electronic music at the end of the ’90s, Thomass grew up going to raves where trance was one of the main styles played at these massive parties. The influence it had on him was planted deeply into his DNA and this EP is the interpretation he has these days of the genre. He moved on to different pastures soon after
but the style was already in him.
Thomass now takes the old fashioned elements he still likes and takes them to new directions. Fueled by gated chords, dreamy arpeggios, trippy vocals, and percussions these tracks are destined to take you back into the past and bring you right back to the present.
Forget what you learned. Trance not trance.

PRÈMIÉRE: Thomass Jackson - "Volcanico" (Mytron & Ofofo Remix)[Feines Tier]

'Powering on from their successful year of releases, the Berlin-based duo Local Suicide have teamed up with Kalipo, the Bavarian producer whose downbeat, hazy tracks are renowned for their electric melancholy vibes.

Releasing on Hold Your Ground, a sublabel of Audiolith, that credits a wide range of countries and influences to bring them the best electronic sounds from around the world, allows for the diverse talent on the EP to take centre stage.

The two tracks Dominator and Crocodile ooze new wave nostalgia and confront us with the metaphorical vocals that reminisce in our experiences as humans. Dominator's syncopated kicks and synths march toward you like a band of dancers, while the sassy vocals inspire that feeling of rebellion and seduction. Crocodile is a much grizzlier track, with the synths resonance taking full effect on your ears as the succinct vocals chant to you like they are coming from within.

Mateo González - who the duo know well from collaborating with on previous projects such as last year's track Komm Ins Loch - has taken Dominator in his stride and given us 2 remixes from his ulterior aliases. The Theus Mago remix is a harrowing acid-trip take on the track; dipping its metaphorical toe into the dark and mysterious pool of techno that he approaches his remix's with. Keeping the vocals isolated and minimal, the track glitches into a world of its own interpreting and digesting its own melody and rhythm. Bufi's remix hits us with housey and disco claps and cowbells, bringing us into a bohemium jungle, full of exotic but intriguing ingredients that overcome all the senses.

The final remix on the EP is Saint Petersburg's Radial Gaze's take on Crocodile. The track, in a major key, incorporates laser synths that shoot out in every direction, while the manipulated voice that lures you into the climax of the track is met with ringing percussion; keeping those same grizzly kicks from the original track

A superb compilation of electronic and new wave sounds, intended to tempt each listener whatever their musical pleasures. The nostalgia-inducing project is set to be released on the 7th of February 2020, on Hold Your Ground.'

For its fourth release, the Swedish label Trampoliner is welcoming Tony y Not (SXDNS183). The Berlin/NYC-based artist, whose rousing blends of sounds are as razor-sharp as she is, is a DJ, producer, and cosmic event planner. From venues and parties like Watergate and Cityfox to experiences like Burning Man, Tony y Not uses music as a tool to communicate what words simply cannot, empowering crowds to smile, look forward, and not take themselves too seriously. For her new release, she brought together a strong line-up of remixers: Everyone's favourite Italian duo Armonica, heavyweight Swiss duo Animal Trainer, and Australian sensation Made In Paris.

Despite the insightful remixes, we opted to premiere the beautiful original. In our humble opinion, “Last Night” is a flawless masterpiece. It managed to enchant us from its very beginning. When the mighty bassline makes its entrance, you realize it is time to deliver yourself to the melody and give up being ashamed for dancing alone in your living room. The vibrant acid and the trippy synth layers complete the combo of elements wisely concocted by Tony.

Exclusive: Motel77 - Three On The Floor (Sascha Funke Remix)

Berliner Sascha Funke is back from a temporary vacation and his Genex EPs on Permanent Vacation to release a remix for Motel77's track Three On The Floor on Mexican label Duro. Funke's approach takes the listener back in time, to an episode of the 2000s when dark synth chords paired with an extraordinary groovey bass line, vocal snippets and a darkly twisted vibe used to be key on Steve Bugs' Poker Flat label. A sound that resembled the internationality of the Berlin club- and subculture, a sound that lashed the audience through PacMan-ish club levels, a sound that was as drippingly wet as the sweat off the wall, a sound that was as creepy as the Freaks could get, a sound that now is re-touched, re-designed and relived by Sascha Funke. Aside from the latter characteristics Funke keeps his work hypnotic by layering various bleepy tones creating this kind-of-cool track with a technoid vibe that you are dying to hear in a club played out.

Motel77's EP Savage will be released on Duro on August 28th, 2020.

In the corner of the room the strange creature writhed and convulsed in its cage, its breathing becoming louder and harsher as its captors approached. Day in day out they performed tests; injecting this anonymous beast with crazy medicines and concoctions until its chest throbbed and it cried out in pain. What they would gain from these clinical trials was unknown, but they had no plans to grant this creature its freedom anytime soon.

The work of Amsterdam's Sinchi Collective encompasses more than just music. Since launching, the platform, label and charitable foundation have continued their ethos and pledge to support indigenous peoples and preserve unique cultures around the world through sonic delights.
