Local Suicide (@localsuicide) are back with the second of four remix EPs for their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', each named after an ancient Greek god. 

'Eros Anikate - Artemis Remixes' is a 6-track EP featuring a remix for ‚Moustache' w/ Skelesys, 'Jam Bounce Release‘ w/ Theus Mago, two remixes for 'Like Follow Subscribe‘ feat. Hard Ton, one for 'Cobra Wave‘ w/ Kalipo and one for 'Eros Anikate‘ feat. Lena Platonos. The EP will be released on digital and vinyl via their Iptamenos Discos imprint on October 21st, 2022. 

Silicone Soul (@siliconesoul) presents a remix for 'Jam Bounce Release‘ with Mexican Theus Mago that strips back the track's percussion in place of airy hats and a dark bass for a deep and driving mix. Since their inception as teenagers in 1998, the legendary Scottish duo have been driven and inspired by an unquenchable thirst for the perfect sweet spot between organic and electronic, synthetic and authentic, a dichotomy that has led to their dynamic and kaleidoscopic electronic sound. Quixotical Records (@quixoticalrecords) brings out the - H - and it's single "Tócame" including four different vibes remixes from Cali Burton, Chinosynth, Cubebass, and Poulper. Lovely journey from the sun and beautiful skies to the house of dark.

Cali Burton's (@caliburton) Remix is a different take on 'Tócame'. To some degree, this feels more like a dark tale of a bright and funky original. However, it maintains the substance and integrity but changes the formula. The track becomes more serious, despite a detuned and a bit comical intro. The arrangement is spot on, every single beat and every single sound has a place of it's own. The inclusion of a piano and electronic guitar gave this sense of fulfillment and progression, which we'd all agree are important. Not going so far from the path, but striding just far enough is the ideal middle ground for finding the right angle, it gives us a different perspective and it is very impressive and admirable when someone is able to see how the horizon can be altered to a certain point, but also remain the same in it's essence.

After an impressive contribution to Sum Over Histories' latest VA, the Mexican producer Fec returns to Urge To Dance with his Strange Times Part II. A continuation of his fascination with the concept of time and its transformation through the prism of music, he delivers a splendid closure to his project with three superb tracks.

The opening track Boundaries of Time is a tension-building track delivering slow-paced beat wisely intertwined with trip out keys and a smooth synth progression. Organic sounds are incorporated to give a different vibe to the track's soul, changing from downtempo to a proper early night dance-floor gem.

Collapsing Times is an explosive breakbeat delivery, bringing Fec's signature sound to life. An eerie aura surrounds the track's atmosphere to numb your senses and embrace your ears with a dark-synth progression.

The closing track, Shadows of the Past is a dirty and yet playful 80's infused delivery. A well paced beat invites your feet to stomp-out and head-swing from side to side with a sweet synth transition blended with subtle and somehow dirty vocals, defying your whole body to invade the dance floor

PREMIERE: Alberto Melloni - Turbo Tomorrow [IDWT]

Prowling into club season with intent, Darkroom Dubs usher in the long nights with this powerful two-tracker from Alvaro Cabana & Fargo Devianti. Please welcome ‘Los Flagelantes'.

Madrid meets Guadalajara on a mission of deep, pulsating 3 am funk. This transatlantic link-up has been brewing since Rotten City bossman Alvaro signed rising talent Fargo’s ‘Storm In A Teacup' EP with Vongold last year. A tense lesson in stark late-night electronica, the release follows a selection of resounding outings from Fargo on Hard Fist, leading to these two dark disco dispatches, ‘Flagelantes' and ‘Tacha'.

Two sides to a unique sonic story, both cuts come with their own deep inspirations and conceptual ideas. ‘Flagelantes' takes us back to the medieval foundations when a fanatical underground sect sought penance with pain. Los Flagelantes were a strict disciplinarian brotherhood that would welcome whipping to resolve their sins. Seven hundred years later, the only flagellation required now is to whip your dancefloor into shape, and with its stalking nature and stark peaks and troughs, this will most certainly do that. 

‘Tacha' follows suit with a much more chaotic dynamic. A hearty nod to the post-punk, dark wave 80s sound, especially the influential Parálisis Permanente. They soundtracked the winds of change during the Movida Madrileña counter-culture in post-Franco Madrid. There's a hazy, woozy, cosmic fuzz sizzling palpably over the swaggering bass guitar and rolling, relentless kicks. It's real heady, shoe-gaze material. If ‘Flagelentes’ whips dancefloors into shape, 'Tacha' hypnotises them into submission. 

Two wholly different techniques and concepts, but the same result: complete dancefloor escapism. Just how Darkrooms Dubs like it. Stay tuned.
