Italian native Cristina Lazic returns to Rebellion following her recent release on the Souls Vol.2 VA last year. And now the rising star delivers an accomplished three-track EP for the Crosstown Rebels sub-label.

Talking about the release, Cristina explains: “Burning is an EP that will accompany people in a variety of situations - from introspective journeys in moments of reflection, to social gatherings with friends and all the way to the dance floor. It consists of three tracks that contain a mix of minimal sounds with groovy bass, with female / male catchy vocals and unique elements full of surprises.” Delving further into the creation of the EP she reveals: “In Mirror I was inspired to include a guitar tone after listening to the great track “Taff” by Leonidas and Traumer; Jazzy Feeling is the result of an effort to combine minimal with funk and jazz music. Finally, with the lead track Burning I wanted to obtain a happy dance floor sound to make people dance, including unexpected elements, like seventh chords.”

In the title track Burning, a playful bassline drives the track as floaty vocals ride throughout the dreamy layers of chords and percussion. Jazzy Feeling is deep and powerful with a solid bassline, infectious vocals and an inspiriting atmosphere. Last up, Mirror rounds off the EP, once again demonstrating Cristina’s adept skill for creating hypnotic layers, sensual tones and rolling dancefloor music that can also be enjoyed anywhere at any time.

Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic started playing the piano when she was six and grew up composing music. Emerging into the spotlight only four years ago, Cristina has performed at iconic clubs and festivals around the world. She also caught the attention of Pioneer DJ Italy, who chose her as an ambassador and example for aspiring female DJs. Her releases can be found on Bondage Music, Creature Records and Rebellion. 'French artist GVRL is up next on Diversion Music with three glistening house cuts entitled ‘Safer Places’ EP which includes a remix from m.O.N.R.O.E.

Pianist and music lover since her early ages, GVRL is an electronic music artist from France. Formerly known as, Elize, she launched her DJing career in 2006 before beginning music production a few years later releasing various EPs on labels such as Deep Tech Records, Defected Music, Unpleased Records and more, charted by renowned artists across the music scene. In 2018, Elize is launched a new alias, GVRL and has released an array of tracks and EPs entering the Beatport Top 100 on numerous occasions. She recently launched gvrlrec as a platforms her own material and now joins Oxia and Nicolas Masseyeff’s Diversions imprint following releases from Airbas, Yannick Baudino, Ohmme and the label bosses themselves.

‘Safer Places’ kicks off proceedings with deep, resonating kicks balanced delightfully with orbiting modulations and euphoric vocals providing a vibrant atmosphere to begin. Miami’s m.O.N.R.O.E. who is known for outings of Get Physical, Cuttin’ Headz, Desert Hearts and Little Helpers provides a revolving remix of ‘Safer Places’ deploying shimmering percussion, minimal aesthetics and sparkling melodies underneath whilst ‘Mate’ rounds off the EP bumping bass grooves, hypnotic atmospheres and shining synths which harmonise together gracefully.'
