It makes it all worth while. Because I really do share them, just for that. I listen to this music all the time at my home, but to be able to spread it around is the best feeling.  To know I'm curating the soundtrack to your travelling adventures, spontaneous morning coffee dance parties, bedroom antics, cleaning the garden shed, or bouncing in your chair at work gives me a lot of joy.

Social Criticism in Lauryn Hill's 'Doo Wop (That Thing)'
Lauryn Hill's song 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' is an empowerment anthem and a sharp social critique, released in 1998 as part of her acclaimed album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill'. The song addresses themes of self-respect, sexuality and the dangers of being carried away by appearances and materialism.
In the first verse, Hill speaks directly to women, warning them about the dangers of allowing themselves to be used by men who are only interested in 'that thing'. She criticizes the idea that women must conform to standards of beauty and behavior in order to be accepted or loved, mentioning 'hair weaves like Europeans' and 'fake nails done by Koreans' as examples of how women are pressured to conform to external standards. The artist also references religious and historical figures, such as Jezebel, to illustrate the consequences of straying from one's own principles and values.
The second verse is directed at men, criticizing those who prioritize material possessions and status over their responsibilities and relationships. Hill calls out toxic behaviors such as domestic violence and irresponsible fatherhood, and questions how these men can hope to succeed in life if they are not right on the inside.
