Ethereal 13-limit harmonic series ambient chord

I composed this piece algorithmically using a recurrent iterated function system operating on notes, times, instrument assignments, and chords.

I rendered the piece entirely in Csound using a variety of instruments by me, and by other people and adapted by me. The instruments are all direct synthesis, there is no sampling or processing of recorded sound.

The entire piece, including the Csound orchestra, is a C++ program.

Fan Sounds White Noise for Sleeping (5 Hours)

This album contains tracks built by Spencer Chakedis and Matt Cusack around 1999-2000. Most were small bits and pieces assembled by Chakedis and looped/manipulated in a DAW. Cusack added some live recorded sounds(including drum added to the track "20:32" after all other loops were laid down) and also worked on editing. DIY recording techniques were employed with most sounds being recorded with one Audio Technica stereo mic and possibly a SM57/58 here and there. The recording began in Spencer's basement in Brooklyn and continued as he moved his setup out the Newark Ave, Jersey City above the famed "Balloon Heaven" party supply shop. I could only remember a few names of the tracks, so if Spencer or others have any more info feel free to pass it along and I will update the track listings. Enjoy....Matt Cusack, 2013.

432hz 1:1 for 432 seconds
Every added prime harmonic lasts as long as it's division of 432 and repeat that number of times.
All tones fade in at 50% their duration.

A bit over three hours of slowly shifting chords, modulating between sonorities, part 1 of 6. This was originally conceived as a single VERY long track, but that proved to be impractical given Bandcamp's limits on file size. Perhaps it's better this way. I hope this music can provide some measure of peace and serenity in the midst of this long period of isolation, worry, and tragedy.
