Inspired by the John Mclaughlin Trio concert at Cubby Bear (Chicago). The crowd was kind of rowdy &amp; noisy so several times he asked the people if they would "please be a little more quiet and respect the music." So they're gettin' noisy again and the guy in back of me yells "Hey, shut up!" Wasn't one of his best nights 'cause they just wouldn't shut up and listen. Hence the title since this song is in the vein of what he was doing in the late '80s &amp; early 90's with Trilok Gurtu (percussion), Dominique Di Piazza (bass) &amp; John Mclaughlin (acoustic guitar through a Photon guitar synthesizer).

SEQUEL (solo acoustic)

Here's something yet again different. I found these basic tracks of some ideas I laid down with the guitar synth some 6 or 7 years ago. One of those things I wasn't sure what to do with at the time, And then life happened and kind of forgot about them...... till last week. Added 2 violin parts to this little jem, inspired by an emotion dealing with affairs of the heart....

Solo guitar composition I just recorded today 11/27/2011. This is one that goes back a ways. Originally composed in 1978 and since I resurrected it, thought I would record an updated version ~ (how I do it now).

The Winter Of Despair and The Spring Of Hope

Solo acoustic on 12 string. One of the things I like about solo recordings is that you can hear all the subtle nuances of the instrument that usually get lost in a band mix! You may also note the stereo effect. Yep, is just one guitar. The pickup is alternating strings, right to left This one came about in around 2007-2008.

12 STRING PEACE

A song about work - feeling trapped & enslaved by time & money, watching the days turn into weeks turn into months turn into years and wondering if all there is to life is this seemingly thankless existence.

CAPTIVE PEOPLE

This is a place where you can hear a cross section of recordings which I've composed, performed & produced over the years, solo, in collaboration with others, and from my published CD's.
Since my work crosses over into more than one genre, I've used the word multi-stylistic in some cases, because I may have invented one...
I play a number of stringed instruments, most notably guitars and violin, but also bass and mandolin. Also, on a few of these, some singing.
In addition, I have done all the recording, sound engineering & production on my own tracks unless otherwise noted.
I'm always pushing the envelope, so hope you enjoy the musical adventure with me!
