Inspired by the John Mclaughlin Trio concert at Cubby Bear (Chicago). The crowd was kind of rowdy &amp; noisy so several times he asked the people if they would "please be a little more quiet and respect the music." So they're gettin' noisy again and the guy in back of me yells "Hey, shut up!" Wasn't one of his best nights 'cause they just wouldn't shut up and listen. Hence the title since this song is in the vein of what he was doing in the late '80s &amp; early 90's with Trilok Gurtu (percussion), Dominique Di Piazza (bass) &amp; John Mclaughlin (acoustic guitar through a Photon guitar synthesizer).

This music was created & mixed with a brainwave synchronization track which has binaural cues that may induce altered or meditative states. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery while listening!

Stereo Headphones will produce this effect. So go grab a set of cans, relax & forget your troubles.

You may be surprised to know that all the music on the track was played on guitar! Used a Roland Guitar Synthesizer and Proteus "Vintage Keys" sound module through outboard effects. The music performance was all improvised of course while listening to the brainwaves! Enjoy, and bon voyage!

Solo guitar composition I just recorded today 11/27/2011. This is one that goes back a ways. Originally composed in 1978 and since I resurrected it, thought I would record an updated version ~ (how I do it now).

CAPTIVE PEOPLE

This is a place where you can hear a cross section of recordings which I've composed, performed & produced over the years, solo, in collaboration with others, and from my published CD's.
Since my work crosses over into more than one genre, I've used the word multi-stylistic in some cases, because I may have invented one...
I play a number of stringed instruments, most notably guitars and violin, but also bass and mandolin. Also, on a few of these, some singing.
In addition, I have done all the recording, sound engineering & production on my own tracks unless otherwise noted.
I'm always pushing the envelope, so hope you enjoy the musical adventure with me!
