I've done another musical cover 'cause I enjoy doing them and also didn't really want to study for micro. So here we are. This song is from the broadway musical "Amélie" and was sung by Phillipa Soo on the OBC album. I recorded this on Garageband using a Samson Condenser Microphone and the Scarlett 2i2. Times Are Hard For Dreamers (Amélie Musical Cover)

Firstly, this is a live recording. I wanted to capture the raw essence of the song and fell in love with the sound of the treated piano at The Westenhaus Mastering Studio. It was intended to be released as a live video recording but, due to some unforeseen technical issues during the shoot, the video didn't turn out the way I envisioned. I still wanted to release what we captured...so this is the audio of that lovely moment.

As of this moment, I have 19 999 plays on Soundcloud and in anticipation of hitting 20 000 (because it’s a big number), I wanted to do a special song as my next cover. So, inspired by a Queen-soundtracked late night drive with my mom, I decided to do a cover of my favourite song, Killer Queen by Queen. This was the most fun I’ve ever had doing a cover because Freddie Mercury’s music and lyrics are beyond fun to play with. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I love(d) singing it. xo

Killer Queen (Queen Cover)

Here's my long-wanted-to-do cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," my favourite Christmas-time song. I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who listens and shares and generally enjoys my occasional covers throughout the year. They're a lot of fun to make but they're even more fun to share with such a friendly and supportive (online) audience. I hope you enjoy this one, too.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Since watching the "CATS The Musical" 1998 movie on Youtube (The Show Must Go On!)at the weekend, I've had this song stuck in my head. I've been humming it while cooking, while working at my desk, and I've been singing it briefly in the shower. My mother suggested I cover it. 

As daunted as I was by the suggestion (it's Elaine Paige?!), my curiosity and excitement won, so here it is. I haven't really sung much or done a cover in over a year, so this was extra challenging for that reason. But so much fun. I hope I have done this hauntingly beautiful song some justice in my cover. Enjoy :)

P.S: Thank you to my family for enduring the two straight hours of singing that it took to get this right.
