This song began as an anniversary present to my wife, Eve. I started it on the day of our 22nd anniversary and finished it by our next anniversary. 

This song, for some reason, is Eve's favourite of all of my songs.

Blackwater Lightship are Tom Roberts and Leon Lockley. A duo who’s sound is much larger than you’d expect for two people. Ranging from delicate folk rock acoustic arrangements to a full on grungy, post punk alternative assault on the senses, Blackwater Lightship have been crafting their sound for the last two years. 
Tom and Leon met by chance in Manchester via a mutual friend. Realising they were both musicians who shared a love for many of the same bands, they decided to meet for a jam in the studio.
Tom has been playing drums since he was eight years old and Leon has been playing guitar, bass and various instruments since his teens and took up singing later in life! Both have been in various other bands but felt a real connection with what they were doing together in this project.
Soon, they were collaborating and writing songs together and 2024 saw them bring their unique sound to the independent venues of Sheffield where it has been very well received resulting in several headline shows.
In the coming months Blackwater Lightship will have some exciting developments including recording their debut EP, a live session with Folkscape as well as continuing to gig around their hometown of Sheffield.

He is a accomplished guitarist and pianist, recorded his first R&B release at age 18 with Carrie Records in Nashville TN. Worked with such awesome musician like T.C. Campbell, which later played with the group Cameo. Gerald Harris is a BMI publisher/ singersongwriter, debut album Latter Rain, released March 13, 2012, with Tate Music Group, is still playing in places like the UK, on Cross Rhythms Radio. TV debut on the Great Day Live Morning Show, in Louisville KY.

That’s Pete and Pete, the original members, augmented with Spud, Pecos,  Snooks and Smooch. Pete and Pete were formally founder members of The Petes. The band like to explore a range of musical styles. They started out with folk, rock and blues but they have also been exploring a vocal style of lizard-lounge type jazz too - smoky and melodic. You’ll find love songs, both exuberant and elegiac, along with songs of loss, as well as songs lamenting the state of our world and our society.

I write songs.  I'm not a performer any more than I need to be to have my songs heard once in a while. I hope that better musicians than I encounter my songs and decide to play them.
