My contribution to Disquiet Junto 578: Rabbit Spirit Ally.

All done on an Teenage Engineering OP-1 apart from some final compression by u-he Presswerk and reverb from Valhalla Room. Mostly played live but the drums were sequenced.

The genre is hip-hop, naturally.

I made this in bed recovering from a chest infection. Just wanted something fun to cheer me up. And it did! :)

The main melody came to me when I was thinking of the rhythm of a rabbit's walk.

Memory Serves

The Euclidean Chromaticon | Memory Serves - disquiet0579

This is a re-recording of my piece Hysteresis[1]. The original version was made using Meng Qi's WIngie2 resonator device as the sound source. In this version, I instead used my Implication Organ Csound instrument[2] as the sound source, but with the same pedals: dual Fat Fuzz Factories (one for each channel), Deluxe Memory Man with Hazarai, and Infinity looper. Like the original version, I recorded this as a single-take performance in my studio. I did some post-production (reverb, EQ, mastering) in Reaper.

I reduced and simplified the arrangement and instrumentation, and I feel that this one's the good version for proper release (but I might be wrong), so it is my first 2023 single.

I long ago worked on a piece I simply named concrete, consisting of simple gestures to generate two constantly evolving voices, one consisting of [noise]-[sound], the other being a constantly evolving melodic [texture]. I recreated that process using new devices to accomplish old tricks.

There Was A Girl (disquiet0579)

I decided to re-perfom / re-record my contribution to week [250](https://soundcloud.com/theatlasroom/drone-for-disquiet0250). Most contributions have made heavy use of samples, but this was one of the few based on midi.

I deleted all the existing instruments, piped the midi out to my Eurorack and recorded the results. The original project had a few audio FX chains, so i re-used them with the new tracks and made some more adjustments.

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
