An old exercise on counterpoint from my student years (this was a Fugue really) , first time I take this from ink and paper to sound and the speakers.

October Groove N°2 (disquiet0551)

"Produce a track taken to the extreme minimum. Use only pure waveforms (sine, sawtooth, triangle, pulse wave) and no effects. Restrict yourself to 5 voices." 

A very simple track, one oscillator tuned to a 5th above the others and static, four other oscillators each fed a pentatonic 5-note sequence, with each sequence having it's own unique clock. And that's it.

Green Future & Blue Nature

This is my first music making experiment in response to a prompt from Disquiet Junto. The prompt was to think of something I often do when making music and approach it differently. 

I often end up layering arpeggio-like things, partly because I like how it sounds and partly, maybe, to feel like I'm making something "complicated" and therefor impressive. I decided to avoid that and attempt more simplicity...or at least to bring in the complexity elsewhere.

I also rely a bit on midi instruments and quantizing (my rhythm isn't great). While there is still some midi stuff in there, I didn't start with it. I actually laid down some vocals first that ended up mostly being removed or moved. I also used an old Concertmate I found on the street (Radioshack's version of the simple Casio) for the main bass drum and bass sounds. 

After trying several things that weren't working for me, I ended up dipping into my voice memos in my phone and found a recording of me just playing a riff on the piano and singing nonsense, mumbly, improvised lyrics. I then shifted other elements to built the song around that.

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
