Daniel Lars: Multi-Instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, producer. Born, initially grew up in the heart of San Francisco. Music deeply rooted...young age of four. Psychedelic music scene was electrifying. Nevertheless, Daniel Lars was deeply influenced from extensive variety of music. Rock, Hard Rock, Psychedelic, Glam Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, Motown, late '60s pop music, Progressive Rock, Gothic, Eastern music, Blues, Disco, Bossa nova, Folk, Jazz Fusion, Jazz, Classical, World Music, Techno, Psychedelic Trance, Hip-hop. 

Daniel Lars: "My father would play stacks of vinyl from extensive record collection. Especially, during weekends. Late, through the night. Recall in record collection...early Beatles, Big Band, classical, jazz, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, MC5, Dusty Springfield, Motown. Various country artists in record collection. While my oldest brothers were playing '60s rock, Southern Rock, English psychedelic bands, from vinyl collection. During late '60s psychedelic era, early '70s." 

Young age of twenty, Daniel decided to seriously pursue music career. First band, younger brother on bass. Jammed with various musicians, friends, bands. San Francisco Bay Area, during the eighties. Formed power trio, "Third Eye." Performed various popular clubs in San Francisco. Relocated in the East Bay Area. Small town in Pleasanton. Shortly, after Third Eye disbanded. Joined popular local East Bay Area hard rock band, Most Wanted. Final gig, major benefit concert. Billed with several other popular Bay Area local bands. Such as Black Tiger (former members of Y&T). To support "October 17th, 1989 Loma Prieta" earthquake victims. During late '90s, hired as a professional session guitarist for two years. Major recording studio in Oakland, CA. Where he learned extensive skills in studio production. Left California in 2008. Always creating gems in musical moments of time. His two lovely rescue cats Syd & Ziggy, daily magical hikes in the forest...are current "musical" inspirations. Cheers.

My signature sound is acoustic driven songs built on rich three- and four-part harmonies — I move between genres but always stay true to what feels honest. There aren’t many people making this kind of music anymore, but it’s what I love, so I keep it real.  I am a throwback rocker hippy chick just expressing myself and being vulnerable and honest in my lyrics.  The genre I pick for a given song is purely based on my mood.

After years of performing in Las Vegas and the SF Bay Area in bands covering Sammy Hagar, The Pretenders, Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy, Tower of Power, Sting, Tom Petty, Steely Dan - to name a few  - I took a long break to focus on family. When life brought me to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington across from Vancouver Island  — surrounded by ocean and forest — I found a peace I’d never known. I bought myself a new Johnny Cash Martin guitar and began working on song covers that inspired and healed me.

That experience reignited my creativity, and I took the leap into turning my poetry and life stories into songwriting.  Over the next year and a half I wrote the songs that became my first two albums and one Live EP.

Ghosted: What a Long Estranged Trip It’s Been (July 2025) explores discovery, recovery, and acceptance through painful estrangement.

The Nature of Healing (October 2025) reflects on lessons learned and the restorative power of nature.

Jules Goes Live - November 2025 - Recorded at a private event on the Olympic Peninsula with gorgeous views everywhere.  What a joy it was to play for everyone and to be given such a warm reception as I walked up with a guitar, an amp, a microphone, and a MacBookPro.  I am privileged to be able to use my vocal, guitar and percussion talents to create songs while also embracing technology to fill in the gaps to form my own backing track, and to still be accepted as genuine.  I have not figured out a logical reason to also bring my drums on stage but I do have a dream to some day play "By the Way" next to Chad Smith and the Red Hot Chili Peppers live on stage as a bucket list item.  (hint hint)

I record everything myself in GarageBand — singing all the harmonies, playing acoustic rhythm guitar, Roland V-Drums, and percussion.   Stem tracks fill in the areas where I want additional instrumentation.  I am doing this on a shoestring budget but take learning the recording process seriously and appreciate how easy it is to replace a song file here on SoundCloud when I fix and refine a song.  

I master my songs using eMastered and score them with Chord.ai.  These are true DIY, “demo-quality” productions — heartfelt and handmade. Someday, I’d love to bring them to life in a full studio setting or even have someone else record them so they can have a bigger audience.

When I perform live, I use a Roland Cube EX amp, my Johnny Cash Martin acoustic-electric guitar, Shure mic and in-ears, and a MacBook Pro running through a Scarlett Solo for my self-recorded backing tracks. Technology makes this solo journey possible, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.  

To Brooklynn, Rylie and Lukas - Forever in my heart.  This is the legacy of love I leave for you.  I used to sing silly songs with you all the time.  Since we have been robbed of a chance to be together since 2019, this is the only way I know how to deal with that loss.  I will never stop hoping to see you again some day.
