In anticipation for his upcoming visit to Lima and his appearance at our next matinée on Saturday 8th of July, we have the immense pleasure to welcome Harari for the next episode of our selector series. 

Harari is a music collector from Buenos Aires and one of the two curators of 'Síntesis Moderna' - a compilation of obscure and mostly synth-laden gems released on Soundway Records in 2022 that we enjoyed quite a lot. Harari draws on ample experience as a dj and selector, seeing him also frequenting booths in Europe. In his home country Argentina he steers the party Highlife. 

For the current mix of the selector series, Harari took a deep dive into his record collection and prepared a trip across a wide spectrum of sounds, from Argentinian and Brazilian Jazz, Funk and World music from the 70s followed by a more electronic theme covering 80s and 90s sound from Europe and some contemporary releases, guaranteed to get you moving!

Some acts need little more than a good name and a stack of great works to attach to it in order to gain the accolades they deserve. Such is the case with Good Block, this mischievous London unit whose portfolio of musical shenanigans increases in quantity as much as it grows in quality, amounting to a solid body of work of which this episode of Gop Cast is another stellar chapter. One that, in their own words is "a bit deeper for us (ambient/ slo-mo/chug) but we really enjoyed doing this one. It features a few new productions from us and some recent finds old and contemporary."

Our new In Focus mix series have been brought to life during times of isolation. And what’s better than spending your time diving into new music or DJ-sets from artists you admire? That’s what we thought. The next couple of weeks, we will be asking one artist each week to deliver a mix build around a self-picked theme. Everyone is free to do what and how they feel like, and create something special for themselves and everyone who’s keen to give it a listen too. We hope you enjoy.

Who else would be better to kick off with than our dear friend Palms Trax? Not only has Jay been a favourite of ours for years, he has become probably everyone else’s as well. His contribution to In Focus is one we have listened to in one go: a “100% originals, features, edits and remixes by Joaquin Joe Claussell” mix, which resulted in a stirring and spiritual tribute to one of the all-time greats.

Palms Trax: “Over the last couple of years I’ve found his music to have this wonderful effect on a dancefloor where the whole place can feel like it’s levitating, so when lockdown hit I started going through his records at home and found it to be incredibly healing. Hopefully some people out there feel the same way!“.
