Every word of Scripture should be highly esteemed and honored. For this reason, I often spend 30-40 minutes dissecting only a few verses at a time. I am not rushed to cover major passages in one sitting (except on occasion), for I believe much can be missed and misunderstood when the simple goal is to cover ground. Slow, steady progressions through the text, expounding every word and thought, has always proved to be highly fulfilling.
