Growing up in small towns in the West Country and West Midlands, Nathan Cable and Ruth Shave started telling bittersweet stories contemplating the quieter moments of people’s lives. Their debut album Midnight Pine arrived in 2018. The Wire hailed it: 'A keening edge...rural in the best of all possible ways.’ A sold out headline show at The Wanstead Tap, London.

In 2020 they returned with new single Void which gained the attention of Tom Robinson, with airplay on 6 Music and BBC Introducing West.

Between then Ruth Shave and Nathan Cable scored short films Highway Children and Light from LA film director and writer Lauren Clinton. They released two soundtracks in early 2020.

In late 2021 after a long and tough year they will return with new song Endless Sea. Release date: November 5th. Produced by Nathan Cable and Ruth Shave. Mixed by Nathan Cable.

In small town, Wantage, schoolmates Heason, Ollie, Will and Ed forged indie rock band Brixtons, simply out of there being nothing else better to do. Now based in Guildford, writers Heason, Ollie and Will create energetic anthems about the day to day life of the modern youth. The Evelyns are a band born during lockdown. Recordings made separately, in spare bedrooms, across different parts of Birmingham. The enforced simplicity of their sound bears songs that shimmer brightly with a beauty found only in the mundane.

'Brighton Rock' and 'Things' are songs written years ago but make the most sense now. Songs about staring out to sea watching waves crashing in, and of  stolen smiles across crowded rooms, buzz with a desire for things to be 'normal' again.

The Evelyns are a musical side project made up of members from Goodnight Berlin and Every Thread.
