When I write music, I try to go on a journey to feel emotions, whatever they may be.  To me, music is a celebration of life; for all the pain and suffering we may endure, it is a gift to be alive.

I teach in US higher education (in a STEM field) & am a hobbyist composer writing in a few different styles. I recommend headphones. All of my music is released under a Creative Commons Attribution/Noncommercial license.

My bandcamp page is getting out of date again, but some older albums there can be downloaded for free or for a name-your-own price donation.

If anyone wants to try performing any of this stuff on real instruments please send a message and I can provide scores. Not sure how playable some of it is for human musicians though.

I'm interested in all music styles, especially classical, jazz and rock. Sometimes I try to connect non-connectable... I'm an architect by profession - maybe that's why form and construction  in music are very important to me.

Daniel Davis is a composer, sound engineer, producer, and educator based in East Lothian near Edinburgh, Scotland. He studied composition at The University of Edinburgh, before going on to qualify as a teacher and then as a sound engineer. He ran Windmill Sound Recording Studio for a number of years before returning to teaching.
