Dakpa is has already made a name for himself as DJ and producer in the Spanish island of Mallorca. Now, following his releases for a handful of other smaller labels, Alessio Mereu is wrangling Dakpa onto the AMAM ranch, where his deeply fine-tuned tech-house creations are a perfect fit. And so here are four cuts allowing you entry into his diverse world of sound, entitled the First Division EP.

Listen to “The Voice of Reason”—and you’ll hear it’s telling you to shake your booty. This one’s got a cavernous thump suitable for a rave in a cave, although any dark dancefloor will do quite nicely. The foggy atmospheric sounds permeate the track’s duration, but are counterbalanced by perky percussion that carries the motion forward. Next up us “Retrobada” in collaboration with Alejandro Dengra, which has a constellation of delicately crafted rhythmic patterns, setting the scene for UFOs to beam you up into their alternate dimension.

The EP’s second half features “Establishment”, combining a funky sub-bass line, clattering beats and creepy textures that will make your hair stand on end. Finally, to contrast the darkness, “Break Down!” closes in a more upbeat fashion, infused with dub techno flavor and psychedelic properties. So come step into Dakpa’s universe and experience the world through his ears…

Catalognumber 23 – what else is to say? While we’re feeling the spirit of William S. Burroughs blessing this very vinyl-enigma, &ME went particularly mysterious ways to transcend the category ‘dance track’ for this one.
The meditation through bass had been the major discipline of some of his latest cuts, but what you’ll find on this A-side, one could certainly call the perfection of somnambulistic peaktime-fever. The way he’s kneading the lower frequencies, how he’s channeling the expansion and decay of bass must inevitably lead to some aroused moaning. Good vocal-selection, for that matter! Then there are those tension building synths and a staccato-frenzy in the break that might be the ultimate ecstasy-trigger of the season.
“Locust” on B comes in with some smoothly looped E-guitar-coolness, adding whispering hi-hats and a comparatively rich percussive architecture. But then again: rolling bass barrels like a signature and a defence breaking build up that’s ensued by liberating pressure compensation in mighty breaks. Two demonstrations of understated and sophisticated peaktime-emphasis, so to say. Or differently put: a flawless double-A-side.

The protagonists of our next release literally fit to the medium's color: We are happy to announce Tiefschwarz's first appearance on our label which is carved in black rills, three years after they mixed the "Watergate 09" compilation for us.

The A-side starts with the Tiefschwarz Extended of this collaboration between the two brothers and Ruede Hagelstein: This version of "Fire It Out" is a percussive track with the intense pull we love from Tiefschwarz. The original is more vocal and melody based and is included in the digital EP package.

dOP also contribute two remixes, both in the digital "Girl" and the pressed on vinyl "Boy" version. Next to the latter, you'll find another Remix: Fango took "Fire It Out" quite literally and interpreted it as a perfect techno track. The four remixes are a great supplement to the already versatile original. The 19th Watergate vinyl will be released on July 28th on wax and digital.

Recondite marks his return to Hotflush with the epic, potentially summer-defining 'Caldera' and a sequel to his 2012 hit 'DRGN'. The Bavarian artist has undergone a dazzling rise since that time, and one which is reflected in the increasing opulence of his music.

'Caldera', with its dramatic arpeggios and crescendos, is unabashed big-field decadence. Bearing all the hallmarks on which he's made his name - space, subtlety, build, attention to timbre - over the course of 9 minutes it raises the temperature to white heat. 'DRGN 2' picks up exactly where its 2012 namesake left off; that is, with an arching melody played out over droning tones of insidious intent. Dark, imposing and elegant - this is Recondite at his most wicked.
