Law - The Biography Of Photek Mix

I have always enjoyed listening to Atmospheric Jungle, but I have only been collecting more and playing Atmospheric sets and mixes in recent years.  Photek is one of my favourite producers of all time, I love his Atmospheric tunes, so when I had the idea for this mix, I had to do it.  I love listening to these tunes at the end of a big night out at a sick rave, maybe you might too.  Enjoy!

Music to take you off to the outer reaches... Crisp studio mix from label owner PHD and MC DRS circa 1999. Perfect combination of deep atmospheric ambience and melodies, tough beats, rolling basslines and DRS's lyrical stylings driving the vibe forwards...
PHD had a cache of wicked tunes (some still sadly unreleased) that never quite had the same exposure as the rest of the GLR camp but stood tall in their own right. Some exceptional music makers feature on this mix as well as appearing across the Ascendant Grooves release catalogue. One of those mixes that has never dated and still gets regularly aired. RUNDR Soho Radio 31/07/25

This mix collects the 15 solo tracks Flytronix (aka Danny Demierre) released on Moving Shadow from 1995 to 1997. These include the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Encounta 12"s, 3 remixes, and 2 contributions to the Storm From the East compilations.

Flytronix was on a (rare) tear then, producing all-time classics The Rhode Tune and NRG & Consciousness, as well as deep cuts brimming with jazzy, unpredictable musicality. Flytronix drops never revealed everything at once; he would gradually layer on drums and instruments with a storytelling sense largely lost in jungle/dnb today.

It's just Danny here. His collaborations with Alex Banks, JMJ, and Peshay are worth independent study, as are his tracks from 1998 onwards, especially the Archive LP. RQ's artwork brilliantly mashes up Flytronix' artwork for the 2nd and 4th Encounta 12"s. Track list is below. Enjoy!
