For those that have occasion to think back on "the one that got away". Imagining that other person today, wondering what might have been and what has actually happened over the years since. This wistful, original song is done in traditional folk style with an Irish/Celtic feel. Let your guard down a moment and go with the contemplation, for better or worse, a brief indulgence as Saint Patrick's Day visits us once again...only to drown our lament and fancy in Guinness and whiskey. From the first time I listened to Annie Smart I was fond of the warmth of her voice and the fresh feel of her songs. My first collaboration, if you can call that that, was putting a simple guitar track on one of her wonderful songs a few months ago. That was clearly not enough. So I've had to imagine a lot of my awkward layered with her voice to see if she could get any good out of it.

The truth is that, as always, she has done a wonderful job in the melody that I send her.

Thanks also to Sander Heerings (Wane of summer) who was kind enough to master the song.
