Uncovered

Suzie Q is a tune with quite a long and rather remarkable history. This Classic was covered by many famous artists and bands, before it caught fire again as a breakout Monster Hit for Creedence Clearwater Revival (re-released on their 1968 Debut Album). The CCR version is still a primary frame-of-reference for me, but just re-created my own way with all due respect to the Original songwriter, Dale Hawkins. Hawkins wrote and first recorded it in 1957. Seems there's still a dispute about whether the '57 song was a remake of an earlier Sonny Boy Williams ditty of the same name, released as early as 1939. Satin Sheets was a popular country hit song written by John Volinkaty and first recorded by Bill Anderson and Jan Howard on their March 1972 duet album, Bill & Jan or (Jan & Bill). It was then famously covered by American country music artist Jeanne Pruett in February 1973 as the first single and title track from her album of the same name. The song was Pruett's only Number One country hit, as well as her only chart entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
Nat & I were asked by Jerry Madden if we would collaborate on this classic cover and we were all too happy to do so. Jerry shows his tasty guitar playing throughout and we thank him for giving us the opportunity to join him here.

Renowned and well respected Alabama Lyricist Tony Harris had some lyrics that needed music and vocals , I obviously jumped at the chance and got to work on it ! We've done another one since which is out on the 8th of April . Me , Gaz and Greg have a belter out on the 1st and Charlotte and I have 2 great numbers waiting in the wings . In the meantime me and Xavier Jaari have a remixed anthem out on the 20th of March , you'll hopefully love it ! I hope you love this one by me and Tony . Thanks for all the support !

After nearly losing one of my new kittens, Scout, to the deadly parasite Toxoplasma gondii (Toxoplasmosis), which caused some horrifying neurological symptoms, including body twitches, I decided to express my feelings about the experience in song using my new DAW. The song is upbeat because she recovered, and is now parasite free!

Due to technical problems Charlotte is having , the next release by Charlie and the Fox is slightly delayed , but it will be worth the wait ! This Sound Society is the new name for collaborations with Gaz Brownie and various musicians .
Hope you like it , we love it , Gaz never ceases to amaze me with his visions , great guy ! Next up on the 13th Charlie and the Fox are back , this time with a wonderful co written song with the amazing Axel Menningen . I'm working on 2 more tracks with Axel and Andrea Brennan , knockout lyricist from New York , and Dave Cooper sent me some lyrics , so working on that too , he's from my neck of the woods , North East England , great guy ! This one was recorded in my own AcoustaTronic style long ago. Recently resurrected the files and ReMiXed. Jerry Reed- I have his autograph on my old Takemine that is just about faded out.  Jerry was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year.  Love this man and his music.  I have tried to play his claw type of fingerpicking, but it is so difficult and so many types of tuning.   I dropped my guitar down 1/2 step and played in drop D tuning.  The best I can do is to try and capture a little of his style

Another live interpretation of an old classic love song, this one was originally written by Jimmy Duncan and first recorded by the Sonny Land Trio back in 1957. But this caught most of our attention from the Bobby Helms recording later that same year. I’ve also been a big fan of the version released in 1968 by The Vogues. This started as a live recording that Nat once again brought to full life with her beautiful accompanying vocals and instrumental nuances.
