Since starting out in the outdoor party scene in the South West of England, Dan Orchard has dedicated himself to electronic music with a hands-on approach that started long before you could get involved from the comfort of your armchair. His instinct for digging out records, 3 deck mixing, putting on parties, and latterly hardware-focused production, have all been shaped by a real world interaction that harks back to the early days of acid house and techno, while his tastes have continued to evolve both with up to the minute developments and further back into the obscure sounds of the past.

He started out at free parties in his native Dorset before the turn of the millennium, discovering the sounds of Jeff Mills and other such techno staples before moving on to the tougher sounds of Neil Landstrumm and Cristian Vogel. The seminal Late Night Sessions Mix by Frankie Bones shaped his taste for earlier strains of house music before getting the chance to play free parties in Dorset and Cornwall, eventually joining the Delete party in Bournemouth as a resident and organizer. Over the years this has led to countless sets alongside artists such as John Heckle, Bodycode, Move D, Lerosa, XDB, October and many more besides.

As part of the Delete crew Orchard has DJ’d across the UK, including in Brighton, Bristol and London, plying a trade in jacking acid house, twisted Dutch electro, classic techno and Italo amongst all other kinds of upfront late night styles. He’s also held down a residency for the Deus Ex Machina party in Bournemouth, and played multiple times at the prestigious Freerotation festival in Wales delivering sets of experimental and ambient material.

While his styles and interests may be varied, what binds together Orchard’s sets are the quality of his selections and the flair with which they’re mixed – it’s common for the headliner to be left hovering in the DJ booth watching him at work and trying to ID a jam or two.

It’s an exploration of the weird sounds inhabiting the fringes of house, techno, dubstep and the wider lineage of electronic music.

Here at Delete we’ve always been far too busy being strange to worry about what anyone else thinks. We started out nine years ago with no greater intention than dancing around to the freaked out house and techno we all loved but couldn’t hear anywhere else. Lucky for us, along the way other people were feeling it too, and that crowd has spiralled through every basement, field, warehouse, flat, beach, pub and even wedding to the sizable crew it is today.

It all comes down to the love of music, and any Delete party is one orgiastic expression of our dishonourable intentions towards the sounds that blast out of that fucking great rig.

Starting as a monthly session in a basement club and now a bigger bi monthly party at an old refrubished bank in Bournemouth, the night has spread it's wings and now regularly collaborates with like-minded party people as far and wide as Cambridge, London, Bristol & Brighton.

Joe Hussey aka Pesticide is a 37-year-old DJ/Producer from the Bournemouth. Pesticide is a self confessed bass addict who graduated from university where he studied Digital Music Production at Southampton Solent  and has since been on a mission preparing his own arsenal of bass-heavy beats. His eclectic taste in bass-heavy beats ranges from Glitch Hop, Dubstep, Garage, Drum n bass, House, Techno and anything in-between along with his mash-up style of mixing means Pesticide has the ability to cater to different audiences, although his primary target audience are fellow bass freaks like himself. Pesticides musical background started as a teenager playing bass guitar in Punk/Ska bands but he finally found his niche when he started DJing 20 years ago. He has since been playing out in clubs in and around his hometown, around the south coast and festivals for well over 15 years and has been seen on flyers along with some of the biggest names in the Dubstep and Drum n Bass scene. In 2010 Pesticide was booked to play 02 academy in Bournemouth (formally ‘The Opera House’) for the club night ‘BEDLAM’, this is place that changed him from the punk kid he was into the bass freak he is today (after being taken there not long after his 18th birthday) and has since played there twice more for ‘DONKEY PUNCH’ and ‘THE BADGERS NUTZ'. Pesticide won the ‘WE ARE VOLCANO’ Dubstep competition at the Southampton club ‘JUNK’ in 2010 winning a set supporting Dubstep legend Emalkay. Pesticide has a residency at the Bournemouth club night ‘VIBEZ’ and has many past dates at ‘DUBNIUM’, ‘ENTER’, ‘DRUMFUNK’, 'THE PARTIZAN PROJECT’, ‘THE WORKS’, ‘THE BADGERS NUTZ', 'SUMADUB', 'DUBOPTIC', ‘DONKEY PUNCH’, ‘EXCLUSIVELY KINK’ and various other club nights. Pesticides mission is to smash up the dance floor with diverse sounds and bass-heavy beats wherever he goes.
