Tales from the Black Vault is an improvised longform radio drama performed in the style of the novels and stories of H. P. Lovecraft.

Sal is a Chicago-born illustrator, concept designer, musician, and voice artist with over 18 years of professional experience. His work spans film, games, theater, and print, thriving in the spaces where visual and audio storytelling intersect. From storyboards and concept art to music production and voice performance, Sal approaches every project as an opportunity to build worlds that feel alive and immersive.
Alongside his creative practice, Sal spent more than a decade balancing creative and technical roles in software and advertising before shifting into full-time freelance work. There, he collaborated across industries and mediums, including AAA game development, while honing a dual background that allows him to bridge disciplines, align teams, and keep projects true to their narrative and tonal core.
 Across his span of tools and skill sets, Sal's strengths lie in creative problem solving, spotting and making opportunities which emphasize the narratives of whatever he happens to be working on. He thrives most when collaborating with others to bring artistic visions to life. He also works as a creative consultant and mentor.
Outside the studio, Sal can be found behind a mic or mixing board, jamming with longtime collaborators and bending the lines between music, theater, and film. Just as often, he’s digging into high strangeness, folklore, psychology, and the weird corners of culture and reality all of which he weaves back into his craft and storytelling.
