To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his highly respected aLoLa record label, Omid 16B is marking this landmark achievement with a series of special releases and amazing parties throughout 2013. Now, as he puts the finishing touches to his forthcoming label mix compilation, it is time to revisit one of his finest creations.

When “Escape (Driving To Heaven)” by Omid 16B featuring the distinctive vocals of Richard Morel was first released on 29th October 2001 on the ground-breaking (now defunct) Hooj Choons label, it became one of the landmark releases of that era, an undisputed classic, that is to this day, regarded as one of the most unique and influential tracks of our time.

Now, in 2013, as part of the “20 Years Of aLoLa” celebrations, Omid 16B has sought out and commissioned a series of exceptional, diverse remixes to introduce “Escape” to a new audience and bring memories flooding back to those who remember the past.

The Original Mix of 'Cosmic Discovery' has already seen much success at Darin’s ‘Insomniac presents Awakening’ residency at Exchange LA. An irresistible set of warm rhythmic stabs add vibrancy to the production straight away. A grinding synth with wicked modulation sits at the foundation and adds some welcome character, while the club-friendly groove provides perfect energy for the dancefloor. The introduction of a smooth melodic lead adds just the right amount of euphoric content without going too far. Glassy harmonies and bubbly melodic clusters flow effortlessly to an exhilarating climax, which should more than capture your imagination.&#13;

Returning to Perspectives for the second time are Kastis Torrau &amp; Arnas D. Following a production on Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint, the Lithuanian duo released the 'Atlantic EP’ on Perspectives, which remains one of the label’s best-selling releases to date. Kastis and Arnas have taken Darin's original and transformed it into a more thought-provoking interpretation. The remix is immaculately produced and tailor-made for the club with its pulsing melodies and waves of refreshing atmosphere. A hint of the intoxicating harmonies fill the breakdown and is an ideal musical interlude before the chunky progressive beats return for a strong finish.&#13;

UK producer Dale Middleton makes his Perspectives debut and supplies the final remix. He’s been on the top of everyone’s up-and-coming hype list since his first release on Lowbit Records back in August of 2012. Dale has since gone on to work with other highly regarded labels as Outside The Box, DAR Digital, and Mirabilis, while catching the attention of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, and Eelke Kleijn. Dale's interpretation of 'Cosmic Discovery' begins with a deep subterranean bassline. Sparkling and hypnotic keys grace the main breakdown and build some dramatic tension before the groove fades back in with a warm rush. Smooth chord changes with a highly emotional vibe dominate the second half, which should provide epic moments on the dancefloor for months to come. &#13;

Darin Epsilon is a globally renowned DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner, widely celebrated as one of the pioneers of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. As the host of the Perspectives radio show and podcast, he has reached tens of thousands of listeners each month, solidifying his influence within the global dance music community. Since launching his label Perspectives Digital in 2010, Darin has continually expanded his artistic reach, further establishing himself as a key figure in the electronic music scene.

Originally from Chicago, Darin’s early career was shaped by his pivotal residency at the legendary Vision Nightclub. This was followed by his move to Los Angeles in 2008, where he worked with renowned brands such as Insomniac at Exchange LA, GIANT at Avalon and Vanguard, and Monday Night Social. His journey continued in 2017 when he relocated to Berlin, the world’s electronic music capital. By 2022, he further cemented his position on the global stage with a highly coveted DJ residency at Ritter Butzke, one of Berlin’s most beloved venues. 

Darin's career milestones are a testament to his pure talent and determination. In 2011, he gained international recognition by winning John Digweed’s 'Structures Two' DJ Competition, sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live, and in 2016, he was nominated for 'Best Progressive House Artist’ at the Beatport Awards. He also became the first artist ever to release a Progressive House production tutorial after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com, further demonstrating his expertise and commitment to music education.

Throughout his lengthy career, Darin has released on the industry's most recognized labels such as (in alphabetical order) Einmusika, Katermukke, Renaissance, Ritter Butzke Records, Selador, Siona Records, Sudbeat, and Warung Recordings. His ability to connect with audiences is unparalleled, and his relentless touring schedule has taken him from the world’s most prestigious venues—Ministry of Sound and EGG (London), Avalon and Exchange (Los Angeles), Stereo (Montreal), The Bow (Buenos Aires)—to the most popular festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event, Burning Man, Ultra Music Festival, BPM Festival, South By Southwest (SXSW), and Berlin Dance Music Event.

However, it would be foolish to say that his achievements have been purely confined to the club setting.
