Born and bred in London, Anjunabeats started life as a university project in the year 2000. Today, Anjunabeats is one of the world’s best-loved dance labels. Over 700 releases spanning two decades wear the iconic Anjuna ‘A’. 

To celebrate, they’ve opened the vault for a handpicked group of artists from the label’s 20-year history. Each artist will sift through thousands of hours of music to create a definitive, mix of their all-time favourite Anjunabeats releases. 

On 3 September, Grum delivers the eighth mix in the series. 

"Graeme Shepherd heralds from Glasgow in Scotland, where they pronounce his real name like his artist name. He already had an impressive career before he signed to Anjunabeats, his debut 2010 album ‘Heartbeats’ earned him “Best Electronic Artist of the Year” from iTunes UK. He’d already delivered a prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and was touring the world.

We eventually managed to attract him to the label in 2015 after chatting with him over a glass of whisky one night after a gig we were both playing at, and we are so glad we did. It was clear from hearing him play and talking to him that his roots go back to the very start of the clubbing scene and he has great respect for the trailblazers who conjured trance and progressive sounds out of house music. He was talking our language.

Grum neatly filled a hole in our label between Deep and Beats and rapidly started to fill it in with some awesome progressive trance tunes, inspiring a resurgence of the sound with his label mates. 

You’ll find some plum examples of Grum’s dark, driving twist on the progressive sound in his 20 Years mix. Keep them coming, mate!" - Above & Beyond

Renegade System Live At Rebels Productions - 2hr Vinyl Set

The World Tour returns on Global DJ Broadcast and with the clubs remaining closed, Markus Schulz opens the archives to relive another special night. With Labor Day weekend approaching, he would normally be playing for his hometown fans in Miami; and it prompted him to showcase two hours of a particular open to close solo set which had never been aired before. The night in question is the closing party for 2017's Miami Music Week, where Markus played for 10 hours.

While True, is a project by Rotem Doron, better known for his Psychedelic Trance project Roger Rabbit. Doron brings us a super groovy sound, hypnotic atmosphere. Superb techno blast that for sure will move your body and soul on the dance floor!  Producing electronic music since 2000, "While True" in the world of computer science means for eternity/infinity, electronic music of all types (which is based on computers) is a big part of Rotem influences.

WHILE TRUE | IbogaTech series #9 | 25/08/2020

On this month's edition of Iboga Records series Filip and Fredrik of Ticon, and DJ Emok will talk a bit about their project, CRITICAL CHOICE and its latest release, Balck Sawn, followed by an exclusive set.

Critical Choice is the brainchild of Filip Mardberg, Fredrik Gilenholt and Mikael Dahlgaard, and represents a natural progression toward creating something new and unique for the psy-trance scene.
Filip and Fredrik have been producing electronic music for years under the name Ticon, and Mikael under the name of DJ Emok and Phony Orphants. Mikael is also manager of the highly respected label Iboga Records.
With their electronic music roots going all the way back to the early 90´s, the guys have helped pioneer the genres Progressive Psy-Trance and Scandinavian Trance and have for years released music on their main labels Iboga Records and Digital Structures.
We have worked together a lot before and we thought it was time to make something together as all three of us enjoy the analogue sounds of old school Scandinavian trance.
Emok comes from Copenhagen, Denmark, and Filip & Fredrik from Malmoe, Sweden. The two cities are very near one another so it was natural for them to get together in the studio. After some wild discussions, studio sessions, gigs and lots of beers, they came to the conclusion that they had something special and unique to give the scene and they decided to form a new project together, and Critical Choice was born.
The Critical Choice sound incorporates the big old analogue sound that the trio all know and love. This foundation is blended with the emotion of the old Goa trance and techno that they grew up with, with a fresh new production incorporating unique musical ideas.
Critical Choice focuses on creating a magical live-act performance, employing an array of keyboards, controllers, effects, drum machines, and more. Expressing themselves live is always a great way to try out new ideas, while interacting with the crowd on the dance floor provides seeds for musical ideas that can be incorporated into future productions.
