Another Zru Vogue opus, a full-length album exploring themes of spirituality & nocturnal deliverance. ‘Before The Moon Disappears’ introduces more recent productions from the duo actually composed of Andrew L. Jackson & Rick Cuevas, followed by Patrick Coyne (long time Zru partner) at drums on some of the tracks. The sound is more ethereal, crossing up their funky groove with supernatural effects: smooth electronic arrangements meeting up the tribalistic mood of a desertic ground, drawning a place for Andy's voice... The guitars are delayed, treated with effects and thus brings a 'lounge' approach to the sound. All that gives the impression to face a dandy, speaking out 'cristal-clear' to your mind and only to your mind. This style reminds how chic and ellaborated Zru is! It results in a very immersive tale, calling the inside wish to move up and swim in an intriguing poetry that evokes surrealist experiments. This is how Zru Vogue stimulates your own-self. “You know how sometimes you try to fit in, but you stand out like a man in a rabbit costume on fire?” lf you're thinking to existentialism, Zru has the answer, that’s where their fictional hero comes up to the story: “Zero, a nothing guy living an ordinary life until he finds himself in an alternate, surreal dimension of reality where he starts to question fundamental notions of his own existence.”

PREMIERE: Moscoman - Always On A Sunday [Treisar]

First five minutes of the first release on our new in-house label 'OTO roku'. This was recorded in January 2010 as part of Peter's first residency at Cafe OTO. The LP is the first of two sets performed on the final night of the residency with John Edwards on Double Bass and Steve Noble on Drums.

This was also the first time these three musicians had performed together.

The vinyl edition comes with two colour artwork by Peter Brötzmann silkscreened on a special 'duke parchment' acid-free archival card stock. The LP itself is housed in a two colour OTO-roku 'stock' 300gsm inner sleeve.

Recorded at Cafe OTO by Shane Browne, and Mastered by Andres [LUPO] Lupich at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin. Record pressed on 180g virgin vinyl at Record Industry, The Netherlands.

lena andersson is a fictional character created by berlin-based japanese artist kyoka and irish producer eomac. both met in 2016 during a residency at the stockholm EMS studios. the initial spark of their collaboration was a joint session on the studio's buchla system, later expanding to multiple other sound sources and instruments at sessions in the etopia studio in zaragoza supported by fuga.

during the improvisations, a call-and-response working principle emerged immediately which joins the special talents of both musicians. kyoka's free and experimental approach forms part of the source material that is contrasted with eomac's skillful editing; unconventional reflections face a driving force. from kyoka's extensive field recording collection, an arabesque of disturbing vocal fragments arises that is set against eomac's hard rhythmic framework, as in »das tier«, for instance. »37 years later« or »mystic« live on a vivid texture that has been condensed directly at the mixing console into a kind of dramaturgical capturing of the moment. the immediacy of the collaboration forms the basis for a synergy of the individual production techniques. a strategy that lacks neither absolute creative freedom nor an awareness of musical function.

»söder mälarstrand« thus captures an intuitive cooperation between the two producers, which also refers back to the place of origin through its dialogical, moment-related production principle. the album title is a tribute to the stockholm studios where the project began.

'Find Sound' is the debut record from Shards, a London based vocal group led by singer, composer and producer Kieran Brunt. Combining voices, synths and percussion, Find Sound is an astonishing exploration of the human voice; using the concepts of sound and light as simple metaphors for gaining understanding. The album’s pieces are intended to be miniature sonic paintings, with each adding to an overall picture of the emotional confusion of early adulthood: the uncertainty, the excitement, the terror and relief.

After collaborating with Terry Riley in 2016, Brunt was asked by the Barbican to form a choral group for Nils Frahm’s Possibly Colliding festival that summer. Following the success of the shows, Frahm invited Brunt to join him in Berlin to collaborate on choral arrangements for his recent album 'All Melody'. Shards have since gone on to collaborate with other notable artists, including Michael Price on his recent LP 'Tender Symmetry'.

Each of the singers in Shards brings a very distinctive musical personality to the group, something which Brunt was eager to emphasise on their debut record. Rather than aiming for a seamless blend or absolute precision when recording, the differences between voices has been intentionally highlighted — celebrating their unique textures and inviting the listener to hear their minutest details up-close.

As such, we have people in the group who are also composers, instrumentalists, folk musicians and teachers. Algebra Suicide was a Chicago poetry-music duo consisting of poet and visual artist Lydia Tomkiw and musician Don Hedeker. They formed in 1982 and self-released a 4-song EP that year. It featured a 60's Vox Guitar Organ, a precursor to the synthesizer guitar, and a Multivox Rhythm Ace drum machine. In 1984 they released their 2nd EP ditching the guitar organ for a Casiotone MT-40. Their debut album ‘Big Skin’ was released in 1986 on cassette and featured 13 new compositions with more complex arrangements. A vinyl compilation album, "The Secret Like Crazy", was released in 1988. It collected 20 tracks picked from ‘Big Skin’  and the first two EPs plus unreleased songs. In 2012 we released an 18-track compilation of their first 3 singles with bonus tracks. 
“Still Life” is a 16 track compilation that collects the 9 remaining songs from ‘Big Skin’, 3 songs from ‘The Secret Like Crazy’, and 4 songs from various compilations. Lydia and Don call their approach "Avant Garage" citing inspiration from Patti Smith, Frank O'Hara, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed. Don plays guitar in a hauntingly stark style like Glenn Branca, Tom Verlaine, or Vini Reilly. He then adds
Casio keyboards and minimal electronic percussion, creating a moody, atmospheric backdrop for Lydia's poems. Lydia's words span a broad range of twisted real-life observations, and are delivered in a deadpan fashion with her distinct Midwestern accent. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each LP is housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh and a 16-page booklet with lyrics, press clippings and photos. Though Lydia passed away in 2007, her genius lives on in these recordings. Please respect her decadence.
