Following last year’s breakthrough album “Tundra”, Lakker return to R&S with a very special new project.
 
Lakker were commissioned by the RE:VIVE Initiative to create a new conceptual work solely sampling field recording, TV and radio broadcasts from the Dutch National AV archive, The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. The curated material provided all related to and was representative of the theme the “Dutch and water”
 
The resulting 8 track release “Struggle and Emerge” is a tense soundtrack to the machine driven mid-20th century that captures the complex relationship between the Dutch and the water that surrounds them- unyielding, colossal, industrial. 
 
Broadcasts from the flood of 1953, which claimed over 1,800 lives and decimated the southern province of Zeeland are sampled in the gloomy “Open Clouds”. The contemplative “Broken Clouds” features a radio broadcast the day after the Nazis inundated the Wieringermeer Polder in 1945 in an act of desperation before retreating.
 
In order to combat the catastrophic power of the sea Dutch engineering has needed to go to equal extremes. On the album, the propulsive and dramatic “Reclamation” blaring “Ever Rising” and pummeling “Maeslantkering Gating” capture the sheer size, scale and power that is Dutch flood protection. Lakker gained inspiration from archival footage of the closing of the 32km Afsluitdijk, a man made barrier protecting the Netherlands from the vicious North Sea, a first hand visits to the futuristic engineering marvel, Maeslantkering and the never ending challenge of keeping the sea at bay. 
 
To gain insight into their topic, Lakker ventured on a tour around the Netherlands, meeting leading academic experts in the field. From the world’s premier flood defense department at TU Delft, to a professor of amphibious culture at the Free University of Amsterdam, to art historians and specialists on the ground; the duo were given first hand insight into the centuries long tumultuous relationship between the Dutch and the water.

Kasper Bjørke and Colder's "Black Magic" EP feels both brand new and like a return to something powerful rooted in what came before; post punk attitude, no wave skronk, disco drums and a classic techno pulse. It's heady, cerebral, deeply trippy music for adventurous dance floors. 
The Black Magic Remixes build on everything remarkable about the originals, pushing elements further towards- and away from- the conventions of the club which is the in-between where Throne of Blood loves to play. 
Kicking things off, London-based The Golden Filter (Optimo Records) shoot for the center of the dance floor, building the drama with staccato synths and a broken rhythm awash in dramatically swelling synths and vertiginous delay.
Building on the heady vibes of his recent remix of "In The Morning" by Smagghe &a Cross for Huntley & Palmers, Parisian mastermind Pilooski puts his hands on “Black Magic," building off-kilter harmonics from a mille feuille of analog synths while coaxing a twisted pop sensibility from the original before waves of delays begin dissolving elements to a slow motion drum machine rhythm lurching like a heart palpitation.
Paranoid London's Mutado Pintado rounds out the remixes with an uptempo take on "Black Magic" oozing with attitude. He adds his own vocals atop chopped up sax samples and a heavy four to the floor kick. At the midpoint, oddball vocal samples and a propulsive arpeggiated synth theme carry the song to a sweat-drenched finish.
To complete the package, Bjørke and Colder offer up an instrumental version of "Black Magic" for those moments when vocals would only break the spell.

Bedford Falls Players originally started out as a collective with @djMarkCooper, Terry Farley, Rob Webb and Justin Drake and has regularly featured local DJ's and producers over numerous releases... However, as things have evolved, Mark Cooper has taken the reigns and produces and writes with a more "Cosmic/Nu-Disco" vibe in mind.

The 'Moon EP' on @nightnoisemusic features two original tracks, the gloriously named "Moon - Chapter 1" - Agent Cooper's "Peak" time warm up Mix is followed by the no less impressive "Chapter 3" Agent Cooper's Black Lodge Excursion. 

To add to the impressive package "TiciTaci" Head Honcho, Duncan Gray has remixed 'Chapter 3'.

Then Sinchi favourites and fellow Amsterdammers @Pin-Up-Club  remix  'Moon - Chapter 1'.  A track with a nice flowing build and featuring some of Pin Ups trademark synth work.

We are honored to announce the latest album from Michel Amato aka The Hacker, ‘Le Théâtre des Opérations’. Michel began making music in 1989 a the age of 17 in Grenoble, France. He grew up listening to New Wave bands like Duran Duran, The Cure and Depeche Mode as well as the darker side of electro Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire and D.A.F. In 1990s he released a series of 12” singles and an album of cold, calculating and relentless techno. In 1997 he teamed up with Caroline Herve aka Miss Kittin and to release landmark singles and albums that effortlessly channeled the carefree spirit of 80s electro pop (of which we released an EP of lost demos back in 2015). Michel’s new live project sees the enigmatic artist go back to his roots, performing a 100% analogue set directly inspired by his first true loves of New Wave and dark, powerful techno.

‘Le Théâtre des Opérations’ features 8 new tracks spread evenly across 2x12”s cut at 45rpm for maximum sound quality and DJ utility. The title comes from a metaphysical journal by French-born Canadian science fiction writer Maurice G Dantec. Passionate about avant-garde techno, The Hacker has taken his influences and crafted a potent homage to the power of the synthesizer. Songs veer from gritty, raw EBM to dark, subterranean electro, effortlessly channeling the strains of the Michel’s musical DNA: Front 242, Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt, Drexciya. The only vocal track features an appearance by longtime friend and collaborator Miss Kittin, named “Time X” after the French science fiction television series Temps X. All songs have been mastered and lacquer cut by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Cover artwork features a collage by London-based artist Anthony Gerace, and each copy includes a postcard featuring a photo of a young Michel from 1989.

Marek Bilinski’s compositions deduces from the best standards of classical and romantic music. His talent and knowledge unite tradition with vision of modern world sounds. He is one of the most famous Polish composers and multi – instrumentalists, using the newest, electronic keyboard instruments. He is an alumni of the Academy of Music in Poznan (Music College in Poznan). He acquired his popularity on the music market thanks to his bestseller album “The Garden of the King of Dawn” and the music video “Escape from Tropics”, which were accepted by TV audience as the best clip of 1984. In 2011 Marek Bilinski decided to make a biggest Nationwide REMIX contest of his most known track and recived a huge feedback in a more than 50 remixes in one month in various styles of electronic music. In the contest attended electronic music lovers and well-known Polish producers. Now for the first time we are bringing back this single to the worldwide audience because previously there was not such possibility. To the official single release were invited famous Polish producers such as: Junkie Punks three DJs, promoters, producers from the southern Poland, Seb Skalski SpekuLLa Records founder and the official Purple Music artist and Piekny Stefan new figure, remixer who won 1st place in the nationwide competition for the best remix of "Escape From The Tropics".
