We are excited to present our next electro episode,this time we share a vinyl-only session courtesy by british artist ADJ.

ADJ has been at the cutting edge of music,whether spinning his unique sounds seamlessly on the decks,producing Electro or Deep Electronica,running a label that releases forward thinking unreleased artists or hosting underground parties with unique & fresh artists and DJs.

He has been playing Underground Electronic Music for over 35 years as a DJ,starting in the days of early Electro & Hip Hop. He has also been producing and releasing music for 25 years,releasing nearly 200 tracks in this time on a plethora of labels including Touchin' Bass,Ai,Outside USA,Cultivated Electronics,Yellow Machines,Crobot Muzik,Diffuse Reality,Battery Park, Dominance Electricity,Kidnapping Netlabel,Interakt,Shameless Today,District 6,Open Mind,Electro Compendium,Digital Distortions & has done remixes for Flint Kids,Scanone,Ed Chamberlain,Sync 24,Lifecycle,LA Synthesis,Carbinax,N-Ter and recently Carl Finlow.

Also during the 90's he toured the US several times with the Outside Records crew & the ELM crew from LA and played for the famous Infiltrate Parties,an anti Miami WMC event run by the underground artists from Miami,including Phoenicia/Soul Oddity,Otto Von Shirach,Richard Devine,Tipper/Crunch,214. Around this time he was interviewed for 2 documentaries about Electro Music in the US,Electro Djziska and Darkbeat,where he was credited with spreading the Nu Electro sound and dubbed 'The Worldwide Ambassador of Electro'.

ADJ is also responsible for the mighty EARTHLINGS Compilations with Veronica Green,raising funds for World Animal Protection through some of the best underground electronic artists from around the world.

As a DJ,he has played at many festivals including a BLOC residency,Glastonbury,Bestival & Shambala. In 2018 he did a tour of the US again with Silicon Scally,Ben Milstein, EVAC,Ion Driver & 214 and returned again in 2019 to play in Portland and LA.

ADJ runs the Dodo Club for the last 6 years w/ Acell, Frequency Resonate Nights in London&Berlin and also events in Birmingham where he has hosted PLAID,ANDREA PARKER,WOLGANG FLUR(KRAFTWERK),EGYPTIAN LOVER,DEFUNKT DIALEKT,FLINT KIDS,ERRORBEAUTY,FLECK ESC,JFRANK,INFO CIFON,ADVENT,SYNC24,MR SWITCH + many more. 

He has played in Lille,Kiev,Berlin,Zagreb,Athens,Napoli,Brussels,Budapest,Sofia, Paris & played in Valencia(w/UMWELT),CERCLE in Barcelona and with Zenobit3 in Madrid over the last 12 months with more to come in Vienna,Denmark,UK,Russia & US in 2020.

He has run the Pyramid Transmissions Record Label with label partner Pathic for 20 years and also ran the Analogique Record Label for 5 years from 1995 to 2000.

After a wonderful subtropical day here in Amsterdam, we are here with the first artist of our 808-roster, this man was based in Manchester for many years but currently resides in Japan from where he co-runs the brilliant Gated Recordings aiming to release top-notch electronic music with an acid, electro and experimental undertone (you can check out the podcast series and the label in the links below).   

His mix for DUSK094 starts with some 4 by 4’s and continues, as he himself describes very poetically; “ into some darker, bass-heavy music, pulling apart the standard tropes, mixing in a little nostalgia, emotive touches and giving a few nods to some titans of the electronic scene such as Pearson Sound, Batu, James Shinra and Blawan. This is lightly peppered with newer talents that Gated is committed to releasing and supporting like The Jaffa Kid, Mazzo and uf0.”
