"MARS" & "MARS: Intimate Passions" by DAHREL

This is rousing piece of music celebrating young, gay, black men and embracing their sensuality, femininity, and vulnerability. This album seeks to break barriers, exploring explicit yet intentional themes to empower and celebrate the beauty of queer black men in their full authenticity. While intentionally sensual in theme, it was a point for a male find, explore, and relish in his own desirability within himself. It's an echo for self-love, acceptance, and embracing the unapologetic beauty of being young, gay and black.

It was so much fun designing, writing lyrics, and conceptualizing this art piece. This is my third piece of music. I'm nervous to showcase anything that I make. So anyone who comes across this post or my music, I really, truly hope you enjoy! And for others of you, I hope you can relate!

He’s also a one-man creative force: designing visuals, editing album art, photographing himself, arranging vocals, remixing tracks, and writing every lyric with care. His debut album Foreground (2022) introduced him as a raw and introspective voice unafraid to speak on social issues and black male femininity. What ties all his work together — from music to visuals — is his honest, feminine, affectionate, and ethereal spirit.

He makes music for people who need grounding. For people who want to feel seen. For people who, like him, are still discovering where they fit in this world.
