This track was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0605 which simply states: "Compose a piece of music with as much silence as notes."

After some thought I created this track. There are many instruments and sounds, but they all play the same notes in unison at the same time.
The sections of pause (there is no silence in this track) are as long as the sections in where the instruments are playing. I also tried to keep the number of notes to a minimum, only 15 notes are played in this track.

[disquiet0609] 60 Not 64 Or Is It

This track is a homage to the wonderful "Festival des deutschen Films", the film festival in Ludwigshafen on the banks of the Rhine (https://www.festival-des-deutschen-films.de/).
The beautiful saturday afternoon atmosphere was captured using digital recording and a vintage dictaphone. These recordings were then re-recorded using the KOMA Field Kit, using a tin biscuit box and contact microphones to add a new dimension. Further processing and effects were added afterwards.
A simple melody pays tribute to this outstanding event.

For this challenge, I re-used the samples I made way back for Disquiet 0262 in 2017.  This time though, I processed the sample using the modular - One side of Lubadh playing the sample, the other echoing it, then Clouds and Rings both process it as well. I then played the faders on my mixer to create a track, that sounds quite warm for an ice bath!

Today I tested and old sample library and a new one I've got to compare their sounds. I used the junto prompt as inspiration for my tests.

I'm a small time alchemist, so I didn't went too far into the transformation. I just wrote a simple piano piece, I submerged the piano piece into some some string orchestra as a potion (a plugin called Fragile String Evolutions) and you can hear the piano piece already evolving. Then the theme is played one last time on some distant, noisy string quartet and low strings (from Cinesamples' Quatre Harmonics).
There's some sort of hi pitched pump organ, that's a mistake (I forgot to mute a test track) , I decided to keep it there in the background.

I created this track on my laptop while vacationing in Vancouver, B.C.  Rather than go out searching for audio material, I decided to keep it simple and just use sine tones.
The structure is simple as well:  A seven-note pattern, C-D-C-F-E-F-D is played once over the 3-minute length of the piece.  Layered over that is the same pattern played twice as fast, repeated once.  Over that, the same, twice as fast, repeated twice, and so on for four or five layers.  The faster the pattern, the lower the octave, though layers do share octaves.
The "instrument" playing all the tones generates a sine wave with added even harmonics (2nd, 4th, 6th), with a slow envelope for both volume and for the slow vibrato.  The volume is also modulated by the LFO, so the tones shimmer.
Because (you might have noticed) the repeat count does not compensate for the halving of the length each time, the faster layers finish first, gradually leaving just the slowest at the end.
