Established in 2003 by Mendo, the celebrated international DJ, producer and remixer, Clarisse Records has put together one of the best release schedules in the business, collecting cool club cuts from globally respected rulers of the groove, year in year out. 

In one deep breath Clarisse has counted on the clout of Audiojack, Cuartero, Daniel Orpi, DJ Sneak, Hector Couto, Jay Lumen, Kidoo, Lorenzo De Blank, Melanie Ribbe, Oxia, Sante Sansone, Technasia, Secondcity and Solardo, all stamping their quality across the Swiss-based label. Strengthening the Clarisse roster closer to home, Aaron Martin, Angel Heredia, Gustaff, Ordonezz, Roxy Delgado and Yvan Genkins are among those who’ve helped put Clarisse’s firm and funky foundations in place.

These formidable line-ups and heavy rotation of top-tier names mean charting success for Clarisse has come easily, and is a reflection of the career of the Swiss-born Mendo, who has been crossing the coordinates of deep, tech, tribal and funky house since the Millennium. Mendo’s debut album ‘Avalon’ lead to an unprecedented year of dominance of the Beatport charts, opening doors to an in-demand international schedule taking in Ibiza residencies and tours Down Under.

Since 2013, the Clarisse Nights label showcase has had all of Europe’s top clubs upholding Mendo's philosophy: "I just want people to have a good time with my music”. These nights are a vibes-heavy vehicle for Mendo and the Clarisse DJs team to put on a party that underlines the label’s signature sound while welcoming the best guest headliners. Carefully selected for their musical selection and dexterity behind the decks, those in tune with the label’s attitude make every date one to jump on.

More than jut a record label and moving with the scene to maximise the brand, Clarisse Records’ mixing and mastering services opened for business in 2022. With no better place to show off their style than the White Isle, the summer of 2023 saw Mendo fine-tune all of the label’s heaviest hitters, and then apply the magic touch to labels such as Hot Creations, Hottrax, Jamie Jones’ Paradise imprint, and The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz stable. Artists now know exactly where to go for all their mixdown and mastering needs, trusting in Mendo’s do’s and don’ts to give their beats that extra something for when summer season shouts full steam ahead. 

With the Clarisse DJs roster guaranteeing a roadblock every time they come to town, Clarisse Nights have already made steps en route to a worldwide takeover, capturing hotspots across Ibiza, London and Croatia. Despite the many weird and wonderful submissions they get from Joe Public at Data Transmission – think everything from bottles of homemade hooch to used underwear – Data Transmission freely admit that we were most surprised to receive a cassette accompanied by a polaroid photo of alphabetti spaghetti spelling out ‘I AM RON MEXICO’ in the post at the tail end of last year. Intrigued, DT dusted off their Walkman and gave the tape a listen to find that what was on offer, was, well…surprisingly good!!! They then set about finding him online, only to find that there was not a single mention of him on the internet.

Several weeks passed and having written Ron Mexico off as an elaborate prank concocted by the over active imagination of one of their many friends with far too much time on their hands, Data Transmission didn’t expect to hear from him again. Then the postman delivered a bottle of tequila every day for twelve days. A postcard then followed, with the following message inscribed in Spanish “Now you’re suitably inebriated, perhaps we can talk on Facebook”. One brief chat later, Data Transmission had arranged for Ron to come with us to burgeoning snow festival, Rise, wherein we’d meet the mysterious selector in the flesh for the first time. His rider, predictably contained a variety of mescal, alongside “1 semi-inflated inflatable shark, a frozen banana and a copy of the Karate Kid on VHS”. The time in the French Alps with a masked Ron was fleeting and having ingested what we’d consider a potentially lethal amount of Mexican spirits, Ron Mexico left as much of an enigma as he’d arrived.

6 years on and Ron Mexico became the selector of all music for Data Transmission

After some gentle coaxing and assurances by Hobbs (UK) that he wouldn’t bring any “cameras or cops” ‘Ron’ instructed him to meet him at London’s St. Katharine’s Dock at 10.47 AM precisely with the promise he’d see him. And see him he did. Arriving by jetski, the still masked Mr. Mexico disembarked on to a pontoon wherein they set about creating 'Scolarisé à Domicile'.

The internet has seemingly lead to an over-saturation of mediocre, insincere and often lazy music, but one talent who has denitely avoided any connection to cutting corners is Gruuve. Siding with percussive beats and with his own MUUV imprint to match, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Dennis Cruz, Michael Bibi and Nic Fanciulli are part of Gruuve's growing support group, having crossed the Paradise, Deeperfect, Glasgow Underground, and MUSE labels on his quest to make sure everyone is screaming for his dish of the day. The Argentinian, who now calls Barcelona home, waste no time in bounding into the next century of deep and funky club sounds by giving fans their just desserts.

To tell you a bit of myself, I'm a DJ since 2010 and played amongst big names and clubs in the Brazilian scene, mostly in São Paulo (Hometown). My production journey started in 2018, and since I've been improving and trying to find my own identity as an Artist.
