On July 4, 2015, The Brooklyn Mirage debuted its very first event: The Cityfox Experience. Tale of Us closed the outdoors at midnight and thousands of revelers shifted indoors, including into the Kings Hall where Dory (@djd0ry) launched into and delivered a set that's such a burner, upon finishing she was met with a minute-long ovation from an all too appreciative audience.

Sometimes one just isn’t enough. Just ask Charlie Sheen or... actually just asking Charlie will do, asking anyone else after him just seems well, gratuitous. Thus it’s with great delight that we’re able to present you with a second offering straight from dynamic duo Paradisko, as the self confessed pizza lovers and chewing gum enthusiasts return to Data Transmission to cook up a special mix of the finest house and disco around for the latest edition of the DT podcast.

Mixed ahead of the November 9th arrival of their new single 'Fool' for Istanbul based imprint High Above The Ground, 'Fool' and its accompanying remixes from Martin Roth and Final DJs see Paradisko continue the rich vein of form that first brought them to our attention and follows on from a number impressive releases and remixes for the likes of Silhouette and French outpost On The Fruit Music.

Masterfully maintaining intensity throughout, this 60 minute workout was just what we needed to help us get over our Halloween weekend exertions although we'll admit it's already got us eagerly eyeing up Friday night!

"I will never forget my first burn in 2008. Searching for good music on the playa back then was not as easy as recent years. Every corner was blasting either dubstep or electro type of genres  which was not in my interest and finding Robot Heart by accident during a night time adventure with my friends was one of the best find on the playa. 2008 was also Robot Heart's 1st year in Burning Man and as I remember I was one of the 100 people dancing right in front of it and dreaming that one day I will be playing on this amazing stage on wheels. It was only few years after that on the night Damian Lazarus took over the bus with his party called "Rebel Heart". After that night my whole perspective on music completely changed and I was so influenced by that night's unheard music that I made a record called "Rebel Heart" as soon as I got home from the Burn, which shaped up my whole career in the right direction. It was such an honor to finally make the dream come true and be part of Robot Heart's line up last year. Big thank you to Robot Heart crew for making this happen and taking great care of me while I was performing on Wednesday night. Looking forward for more exciting years to come."

Monty Luke is a revolution in sound – a forever push towards forward thinking; a man unafraid to explore the space beyond the assumed boundaries of electronic dance music. What began in Brooklyn quickly spread, as Monty spun his way across the west coast, honing in on a raw, brain-pumping sound that would catapult him into the great unknown.

Monty Luke began producing in the early 2000s, releasing “What U Feel” alongside Sam Urton under the Loopwreckas moniker. Shortly thereafter, Monty struck again, this time with Stompy Hi-Fi resident DJ Tasho. Released on Mothership Music, the track, “Paranoid,” showcases Luke’s punk rock mentality – a force of creative ferocity and out-of-this-world vibe that so clearly characterizes Luke’s distinct style.

In mid 2008, it seemed fitting Monty would relocate to Detroit, the birthplace of techno music. He began work with his mentor, techno legend Carl Craig, and produced “Panik Attack,” the un-nerving, hypnotic follow-up to “Paranoid.” Managing the development of Craig’s home-based label, Planet E Communications, Luke received the encouragement to push ahead, to new frontiers of the sonic mind. 2009 saw the release of yet another single, the nebular “Art, Love, and War.” With each track, Luke has expanded the horizons of techno music. During 2010, he was a part of the D25 World Tour, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Detroit Techno, alongside DJ’s such as Theo Parrish, Kenny Dixon Jr., Derrick May, and more. In 2011, Monty launched his own imprint, Black Catalogue. The label is focused on raw, underground electronic music talent and will primarily be a stage for him to release music on his own terms. You can also hear Luke monthly, on his Scion A/V show “Wave of the Future.”

Hands up, who knows what 'Ubuntu' means? Oh and quieten down you computer nerds, we're not talking about the Linux based operating system as that'd be, well, beyond boring. Anyone? No? We'll tell you then. It means "I am because we are" and serves as the inspiration behind Italian DJ and producer Federico Grazzini's new record label of the same name. 

Starting life with a four track various artist EP, the outlet aims to serve as an "interactive open space" where music and other art forms can be shared by like-minded individuals.

 Featuring cuts from from E-Dward!, Double Dash and Grazzini himself, Ubuntu 001 has a Futurama theme running through the record, with several of the track titles paying homage to Matt Groening's popular animated science fiction series.

Out now on wax, it's the label founder's effort, 'Bender' that most impressed us here at Data Transmission HQ and thus is the number we knew we just had to nab for premiere. A retrofitted glimpse of the future, you can check out 'Bender' in all all its techno fuelled glory now.  Go on, you won't regret it.

The glitzy synths and lavish drops of the original have been swapped out in favour of something decidedly darker. Rumbling basslines and meandering riffs are layered on top of rumbling low-ends and minimal yet focused percussion. 

It's aimed at the warehouses rather than the main stages but we have no doubt that you'll be hearing this one crashing through a sound-system very soon.

The return of Michael Klein was imminent. Considering the magnitude of his last offering, the „Drawing EP“, it was only a matter of time before he returned with another stellar parcel of forward thinking dance floor bombshells. With his latest contribution ‚Metals EP’, Michael presents four stunning numbers displaying not only his trademark sound, but his evolution and range as a highly promising new artist.
The expedition kicks off with „Silver“ and with it a lush presentation of the perfect balance between thrust and elation. While a persistent rush of momentum keeps the pace, slow yet infectious rises and vast ethereal cries of spacious flickers set the stage for a cosmic ride reminiscent of indigenous settings with boundless, star lit skies.
Following suit on the A side sees Michael return to his approach heard on his last EP. Somewhere between the traditional fundamentals and the future stylings of the most distinguished techno lies „Opaque“. With incredible force and exuberance, Klein delivers off kilter grooves that create a contagious, sweat laden exhilaration, nothing short of pure warehouse bliss.
Kicking off the B side is „Outer Shell“ and it is by far the most emotional and cosmic of all the tunes. Opulent melodics construct beams of radiant light found only in the outer reaches of deep space as flashes of meteoric rises and low bursts of impetus propel the auditor into a never-ending journey into a place where time and space cease to exist.
Wrapping things up is a slow burner entitled „Dura 2 feat. aGhost“. A tune that can be played fast or at the slower original speed, it's a beautiful demonstration of resistance and inflection. As chants of a mysterious female fill the room, shimmers of lavish chimes circle slowly to secure an impassioned sentiment of sorrow, excitement and desire.
To compliment the beauty of 'Dura 2' we've enrolled the services of Roman Lindau to put his spin on the original. With just a few elements Lindau expertly creates a monster of a dance floor stormer. As the bassline continually grows and shrinks with a simple but highly effective four to the floor groove, the excitement swells as short stabs of vocals entice the crowd to peaking trepidation.

Jamie Jones has always had the golden touch when it comes to remixes and his sumptuous edit takes no prisoners. 

There's a seriously heavy bassline running throughout and the serene vocals of Eglė Sirvydytė​ are kept intact. It's a bit of a monster and some warped gurgles and rumbles give it a darkened edge. Check it.

If you’re an up-and-coming producer whose debut release is commanding the attention of Roman Flügel, Mano Le Tough and Bicep, it’s safe to say you’re doing something right. Hailing from Belfast, LOR is doing just that; his focus on hypnotic melodies and subtle experimentation gaining support from big names across the world of techno and underground electronica.

LOR’s aforementioned debut release was a 3-track set of remixes, on which the Irishman put his spin on tracks from three very different musical heavyweights: Derrick Carter, Arthur Russell and Kraftwerk – the latter of which particularly piqued our interest here at DT.  Since we picked him in our 'Ones to Watch for 2016', his first original EP was snapped up by one of the leading Berlin techno labels (we’re not allowed to give the details until their promo kicks in later this year) and a second EP of unreleased material was immediately signed to Fort Romeau’s new label, Cin Cin, for a release this summer. 

He joins our Mix of the Day Series today and we are very happy to have him, if you like this mix and want to see him out then you can catch LOR DJ’ing at the AVA Festival in Belfast, Tramlines Festival in Sheffield and Celtronic Festival in Derry.
