2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer. 

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track ‘Nil by Mouth’ EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for ‘Heads Up’, it’s now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche. 

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album’s entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released. 

The brand new cut ‘Foodchain’ from Audio sets a theme which is prevalent throughout all 27 tracks. Zipping through to the mechanical composition of Mefjus’ ‘Brainwork’, all the way back to Spor’s heavy-hitting ‘Bullet Time’ remix; this is a no holds barred exploration of the genre’s darker side.

Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath. Wasting no time, Eatbrain is back with another dancefloor annihilating EP. It comes from a name needing little introduction in today’s quickly rising movement of high energy neurofunk drum & bass; the badmen from New Zealand, State of Mind. 
The duo’s high-octane style of drum & bass has catapulted them through the ranks over the last few years, forging alliances with some of the genre’s foremost innovators. Their latest effort, The Full Force EP, sees State of Mind link with the infamous Budapest sound; collaborating with the likes of Mindscape, Chris.SU, and Jade himself. It’s a fearsome meeting of the minds - after all, this is Eatbrain. Premier neurofunk. 

State Of Mind leads off with the eponymous ‘Full Force’. From the first beat, ‘Full Force’  sees SOM balance the slick, robotic aesthetics of neurofunk DNB with the confident swagger of rock and metal; The duo makes it look easy. Live instrumentation subtly sets the stage from the outset, building eventually to a concoction of paper-crisp bass and weighty, swinging drums.

Bio 

Mark Tarmonea (DJ, producer, singer/songwriter) and Markus Willmann (guitar, bass) are Mandelbarth: An indie dance project from Munich Germany. They met in the winter of 2014 when recording Mark Tarmonea’s deep-house single “Paradies”.  

The two extraordinary talents quickly hit it off in the studio and shared their passion for grooves and hooks. After the recording was done, they decided to continue working together on a joint project: Mandelbarth was born. Soon after, first songs were written and recorded in joint studio sessions.  

Their first single “Palmtree“ was released August 11th on Soundcloud. "Palmtree" spread in the Internet like a wildfire, achieved very high click numbers and almost consistently positive reviews. 

The online community is eagerly waiting for Mandelbarth’s next releases. Because Mandelbarth stands for soulful indie dance, great lyrics and unique vocals – Mandelbarth is one of a kind.

Dutch producer Pythius' new EP 'New Order' bridges the gap between D&B and experimental electronica taking us back to a time when Bad Company were running the scene and Noisia were only just starting the rear their heads.

We have bagged the synthy, arpeggio heavy number 'Coruscant' and trust, it bangs. Combining retro synth sequences that wouldn’t sound out of place in Steven Sodenberg’s The Knick, with lush ambient pads, dub techno stabs and a knack for effective melodic progression (as well as the pre-requisite bassline sciene that comes with the job of releasing on Blackout), the man from Utrecht has created a number that will appeal to both the junglist massive as well as people who don’t usually dabble with the dark arts of 170bpm music.
