Sweat was the label I aspired to be signed to from when I first started writing music.

Regardless of if they were releasing the biggest act in the country, or a relative newcomer, I always opened their promos with anticipation, because I knew they would be straight fire.

To join the family is an enormous honour, and I'm really proud of this record, my first offering as a member of the Sweat family. Hot Sauce, being a very fitting title.

Where did it all begin? First came the 'big bang', followed by a wondrous process of evolution, the so-called 'survival of the fittest'.

Having emerged and now being well established in his country of origin Greece, Thodoris Triantafillou follows a string of stellar releases on Connaisseur, Objektivity, Upon You and his powerful first outing ‘Avrio’ on Chapter 24, with the beautifully crafted ‘Species’ EP.

Fusing inspiration from the animal and astral realms with a potent combination of styles and influences, Triantafillou’s technical excellence and natural flair for selection shine through here.

Lead track ‘Hornbill’ is a classic banger brimming with straight up, driving energy. Melding the sounds of afro, techno and cosmic electro, it’s a workout for body and mind.

Meanwhile ‘Elephants’ packs a hefty punch, offering plenty of tension and a full percussive workout. Close on its tail and rounding things off, ‘Capybara’ is an uplifting and synth-led affair with plenty of production prowess.

All power, confidence and swagger - the ‘Species’ EP is sure to take its place at the top of the pecking order.

'Talented UK newcomer Yarni teams up with Javi for a second outing on Exploited following the lush 'La Vida Es Bella', exhibiting more class and grace with this delicate new track.

Enlisting the vocal talents of Dutch singer Mâhfoud for 'A Little Piece', they have crafted something rather special once again. Gentle piano chords play out beneath a filter as atmospheric FX and delayed chords build the vibe around them. Insistent yet restrained bass tones drop in to provide more backbone to the succinct percussion, the dizzying vocal FX continuing to swirl away in the background as plucked instrumentation sends your mind to distant lands. 

Given how well they work together on this resplendent track, we’re convinced you’ll be hearing from this trio again.'

Release Info: 
For its second release of 2018, microcastle welcomes the mysterious Cornucopia project back to the label for a new EP. The publicity shy artist first appeared in May of 2016 when 'The Day You Got Older And Stronger' was released courtesy of Gorje Hewek & Izhevski's Shanti Moscow Radio. Shortly thereafter came his microcastle debut with 'Pursuit of the Orange Butterfly'. A lo-fi, organic and deeply musical creation that the underground fell in love with. 

2017 was met with just one release, 'Letter For Poly' which launched Lee Burridge's new Tale & Tone imprint. Sitting at #1 in Beatport's overall Top 100 the track was also aired on BBC Radio 1 by Kolsch and by year's end was considered one of 2017's best deep house tracks. Now returning to the comfortable home of microcastle, Cornucopia presents his much anticipated 'Forever Gone' artist showcase.

Spread across three tracks, ‘Forever Gone’ is a transcendent blend of music and nature, an organic methodology which Cornucopia seems so apt at crafting. Beginning with the evolving textures, exotic drums and tonal creativities of the title cut, the EP then shifts energy to the modular intensity and oriental themes of ‘Big Sky’, before ultimately melting down to the tranquil, meditative yet spiritually uplifting expedition that is ‘Epathia’. 

For those who believe that music can affect people on a deeper, universal, emotional level, this is music to treasure. This is music to hold close to your heart.

Exclusive TB 'Unskinny Dub'

'Future Sounds of Jazz' is one of the most relevant, most artsy, most forward thinking compilation series from the house of Compost as it has defined the term 'future jazz' ever since its first release back in 1995. With the release of 'Future Sounds of Jazz 14' the compilation series breaks new ground as it is compiled by Compost befriended artists and Permanent Vacation-label heads Benjamin Fröhlich and Tom Bioly, who displace Michael Reinboth, who had brought the compilation to fame. 'Future Sounds of Jazz 14' consists out of 28 tracks including three exclusives, one by Tom Bioly alias TB himself. 'Unskinny Dub' is the title of Bioly's compilation contribution and nominally refers to him seeing a stranger wearing a tee with that print. It's the little details that Bioly pays attention to in his everyday life, when compiling music, when working on projects that separates him from others. The track-affix 'Dub' is owned to the fact that the FSOJ-exclusive is instrumental only. A few days before the official release Torture the Artist caught up with Tom Bioly to deeply talk about the compilation and the footsteps Michael Reinboth has left.

The title track « Ayo », enhanced by the powerful roots-spirited vocals of Mabiisi, be it declined as original, club or instrumental versions, demonstrates the capacity of the infamous Cocorico's residents to deliver groovy yet equally emotive offerings. The EP « also » includes two top notch remixes or rather properly named « reworks » or « reconstructions » by David Mayer and Fred und Luna and UFO Hawaii. 

Mayer's take on « Ayo » emphasizes the genuine afro-spirited moods of the original by boosting it with an awesome sharp and percussive beat proper to ignite the jungle floor and make its crowd shaky and crazy. 

Another type of absolute wizardry with Karlsruhe based musician Fred und Luna and fellow UFO Hawaii's outstanding interpretation, leading us to elektrokrauty and nadaphysical dimensions without losing the substance of Armonica's original statement. 

Two radically different personal insights ans two encounters under the sign of perfect alchemy.
