This is a rock arrangement of the intro theme from Wild Arms 2 on Sony PlayStation, originally composed by Michiko Naruke. It was suggested to me by my artist friend Heavy Metal Hanzo, who told me it certainly had the heroic vibe I'm always looking for in video game songs, and indeed it had ! The featured artwork is actually a commission I asked from him for the piece.

Also featured here, my regular session bassist and friend Maxime "Wild_Cat" Noël, who was as usual kind enough to send me bass recordings across the Atlantic Ocean !

I had a ton of fun choosing the samples here btw, some of which I never used them at all before (the distorted guitar and harpsichord, which were also recommendations from friends of mine), one sample, along with variations of that same sample that I haven't used in a long time (the pulse wave lead), and even one that I made entirely by myself (the FM bass, tho I had to have some help from a few people to make it sound as good as I'd want it to :V; and yes, I'm starting to get into FM synthesis myself, and hopefully I can get better at it); the rest are all samples I used or already had before, but they still work really well here, haha

Originally released on the Mega Drive in 1992 and featuring some of the most ingeniously complex and heaviest compositions to ever be squeezed through an FM sound chip, the music of THUNDER FORCE IV is relentlessly creative and uncompromising throughout; a real technological marvel and a triumph of metal against the odds. It thoroughly deserves the cult status it now holds and we are thrilled to be releasing it.

THUNDER FORCE IV is presented as a triple 180g LP, featuring 38 in-game tracks and 10 unused bonus tracks, all of which were sourced from the original console.
