Seoul's Mount XLR (@kwangjaejeon) is a master at sculpting samples and sounds in a way that makes his music feel 3D — a throbbing entity, gritty and alive. On his new EP, 'Phase i', via @sound-supplyservice, he's deeply influenced by UK music - particularly bass, post-dubstep, and garage.

The six-tracker closes with 'Codrington Bounce', a cut partly produced in London that ties together the record’s dual energy and brings the narrative full circle.

Sout al-Rouh roughly translates to the voice of the soul - let this show be a window into the depths of mine with each and every show. 

Fortis emphasizes an emotional power in Latin and Soul Fortis reflects the strength soul carries in music. I hope to embody the power of soul on the airwaves of my favorite radio station on the planet. 

I believe soul is a common thread which sets some experiences apart from others. Soul is the secret ingredient to the most profound and meaningful things of my lived existence. 

I believe that music is a sacred tool which we can utilise to channel our connection with a higher existence, our ancestors, the world around us, and the spirit within. 

Since giving music the space it's deserved in my life, it's given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment that I'd been searching my whole life to find. 

For this show, I want every episode to feel like a dose of medicine and clarity, driven by the love I feel within. The energy I now have, brought by the freedom music has given me to be myself. 

Expect sounds, songs, and words that have shaped the world around me - prose, politik, guest artists, and of course, homage to my greatest musical love of house music.

Millenia of our practices, rituals, prayers -
reaffirmations of our small place in a galaxy of space and time 
Too vast for the human mind

Driven by curiosity not synthesized social velocity

Sometimes I feel clung onto the world we once knew, like the eroding light of an exploded star

a spectator as the world wizzes by 

As I sit in a sun stained room, hung pictures hue’s blued, as the old ceiling fan stirs
Wondering whether the sun’s glow is still felt by this world

The means become the end - have you too ever wondered what this is all for? 

I feel a fraudulence to the faceless diktat of formulaic mundaneity 
It can drive the untrained mind into insanity

Consume, sedate, no space to create 
The dopamine machine slathers mud on the psyche

They all seem to say it’s okay
But surely there’s more to life than this? 
The clicks? 

Unless, what if I found comfort in the discomfort? 
The harmony of disharmony,
WIth a world likely gone with the blink of an eye - the free market’s mirage blown barren like a house of cards
Tell me, how many likes does it take to build an Al Quds or Taj Mahal? 

I’d rather count on love

Tell me what stands the test of time?
9-5 I get we’re doing what we can do survive but
We destroy everything that’s inside and wonder why we don’t feel alive
