The Soundwave EP has been compiled to showcase the themes and concepts in DnB music that will be explored and displayed at the event. Deep;  gritty and always true to the essence of dnb and dub culture, this EP is not to be missed by the connoisseurs of the sound or those new to drum and bass. A collection of recognised classics have been remixed and also original and new material is on offer within this EP in alliance with Soundwave.dance. A long time in the making due to all three individuals being so in demand and having such prolific release rates the project took root this summer with the release of Psychedelics, the trio’s first collaborative release. 

Released on Pilot and coming complete with a deliciously trippy video, it marks the start of a new creative relationship between the two producers and singer. A relationship you can tangibly feel on this excellent mix.

Dispatch Recordings is proud to present “Short Cuts”, an album project created by two long-term friends and favourites of the label. With numerous solo releases and their previous collaboration on the “Most Violent Year” album series, NC-17 and Dauntless will be well known to fans of Dispatch. When we were approached with new collaborative material, the “Short Cuts” project was born.

Drawing on 2000s-era DnB influences, they set out to create something tech-influenced whilst maintaining musicality and that much-needed funk. The pair found a unique creative flow that allowed their styles to gel and enhance each other’s productions.

Dauntless and NC-17 channelled the energy of those early days into an energetic and future-thinking album, citing many legends of that prolific era of drum and bass as influences. Benefitting from a modern approach to mixdown and structure, the resulting album is a varied and multi-layered representation of their shared artistic vision.

Wreckless returns to Dispatch Limited with another impressive EP. Five varied, tough tracks with serious bass lines and infectious, rolling grooves. Wreckless once again takes the listener on a journey through the soundscape of each track, covering heavier, dance-floor territory matched with his trademark atmospherics.

The title track ‘Mind, Body, Spirit’ is inspired by the Oscar Wilde quote “Everything in moderation, including moderation” which guided Wreckless’ production process. ‘Prayers for Leaders’ aims to remind us that wisdom and guidance are needed for everyone, even if we don’t agree on political views.

‘Lungs’ is a sonic experiment focusing on the breaths in between vocals, making these the focus. A reminder that the real groove is in the gaps between. On ‘Soho’ Wreckless endeavoured to keep his production as clean as possible; after hearing a friend’s tunes in a post-production studio in Soho and wanting to achieve the same results.

‘Assam’ is an exploration of the drones which feature heavily in Indian music, and takes notable inspiration from the Beatle’s output during their Revolver and Sgt. Pepper’s period. For the Dispatch exclusive track, Wreckless adds the Spirit to this EP, with a pattern inspired by the Ichthys symbol of his faith.

Genreless, genderless, limitless… Ghost Hardware has served up the biggest mix we’ve had so far in the 1 More Mix series. 

A wild ride that flexes creatively from 120 – 170, taking in everything from breaks to jungle, techno to grime, dubstep to house, the London artist has been waiting to put out a sonic statement like this since they first emerged as an artist four years ago in 2019. And trust us; they’ve gone IN. 

It’s a mix of Essential proportions and it resonates with everything 1 More Thing stands musically and ethically. We covered Ghost Hardware’s No Reality label quite extensively last year when it launched. A label, movement and experience that they explained at the time was inspired and motivated by “blurring the lines between realism, surrealism, light, dark, fiction and non-fiction.”
