Slokto is a Valencian DJ and Producer who has been active professionally since 1999 in numerous Valencian residences such as La Nit, Chocolate, Deseo 54 After, Miniclub, Hypnotica Colectiva, Syntax Electronix Valencia and currently Unitat and has shared a booth with numerous artists on the scene. National and international. 

He has created together with IUPACC his own brand, Syntax Electronix, a project that spans record label, radio and touring events. 

His most recent project together with Pilan, Witchslim and IUPACC is called UNITAT, referring to Unity as an instrument of the future and music as a tool, vector of progress.

Another year of highs - normality! kinda - and lows - Ukraine, Tory scum, cost of living etc - finally in the bin! Have done a coupla these kinda angry lookback mixes since lockdown, wasn't sure about continuing it but been so much and so many lost this last year that it felt rude not to get it off the chest a bit. This is mostly stuff that was released last year but was a bit too heavy to fit in with most of the other stuff I'm currently digging and playing, with a few oldies or 2021 tracks that still felt relevant or appropriate. RIP to too many, let's see if things get any better in 2023 . . .

With his European tour almost on the way, we are so happy to welcome this Canadian to the channel: When we were strolling through Berlin last year we found his album "Your Dystopia, my Utopia" and were instantly sold. His combination of stomping rhythms, haunting soundscapes, and secant synths keeps you on edge and just simply mesmerized.

His style brought him to Adam X's label named Sonic Groove where he also just released a collaborative EP with Blush Response which you should definitely check out!

Next up in the Unsound Podcast series is another live recording from Unsound 2018, and another special collaboration between two acclaimed artists - a blistering live set by heavy techno hitters @ewa-justka and @mannidee, which took place in Hotel Forum's Ballroom at 2am. Coming from two different backgrounds (noise and bass music respectively), the two artists are stalwart names in techno and acid, who together released the politically charged industrial banger "London Isn't England". Hidden behind a wall of stroboscopic lights, the duo delivered one of their rare live collaborations - ultrafast, dizzying and stupefying.

Unsound Podcast 53: Manni Dee & Ewa Justka

Berlin-based live duo and production unit, OPERANT, have progressively carved out their own space in the scene with boundary-defying electronic explorations, fuelled with tension and obscurity. A collaborative project between Instruments of Discipline founder, Luna Vassarotti and August Skipper, OPERANT have been serving a selective stream of output through the label with a focus on Techno, Noise and Experimental. Characterised by unrestrained experimentation, the project brutally morphs itself as it pleases, both in performance and in the studio.

OPERANT’s live shows are a collision between the body and machines, encompassing gestural noise, power tools, mic’d metal fragments, synths, drum machines and dual vocals distorted to the point of surreality. Since their inception OPERANT have been consistently touring, sharing stages across Europe, Asia, Australia and Russia with Ancient Methods, Unhuman, Blush_Response, Vatican Shadow, The Bug, Giant Swan, Schwefelgelb, An-i, Trepenaringsritualen, Kollaps & Brighter Death Now.

While 2018 saw the release of OPERANT’s 3rd EP, ‘Harnessed To Flesh’, a collection of remixes for Tomohiko Sagae, Verset Zero, 11xxx27 and compilation tracks for Instruments Of Discipline & Prague collective: Wrong; OPERANT are planning a full length release on Instruments Of Discipline, expected in the first quarter of 2019.
