The woman featured on the cover of this sixth Proletarijat release is the nurse Milja Marin. This was a household portrait in Partisan circles, called Kozarcanka - “woman from Kozara”. After the war, Milja said she had very little to smile about, nor did she want to carry a rifle. But she did it anyway. Our struggle thus demands, as the old Partisan song tells us.    

With this release, Sev Dah continues to celebrate those who dedicated their lives fighting fascism. Two old-school techno beasts as a nod to those who came before us, finishing with a futuristic space-traveller on the B-side as a reminder that the fight never ends.

53 Degrees North marks SK_eleven’s seventh release, as Setaoc Mass continues to add to his flourishing imprint; this time with a two-part EP release. 53 Degrees North Part One focuses its efforts on four-to-the-floor club-centric music the label head is renowned for. All four tracks are emblazoned with his signature, disparate pairing of light and dark sound palettes glued beneath rich, atmospheric textures and hypnotism - all the while keeping its muscular club chassis gleaming beneath.

Part Two of the double release sees Coates revealing more of his experimental side. The second cut pays homage to past influences of the producer as he floats between ambient, IDM and electro cuts with ease, all rife with emotion and passion.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Irazu' gem on 'Stale'.
Irazu is back to Stale with his strongest EP so far, proving to have a strong musical indentity and a deep visual of electronic music.

140.15 EP comes after a period of more experimental and ambient work, Last Rays EP was released a few months ago, it was an ambient, techno focused record. After that i wanted to return to my previous techno works. For me, this means dry, futuristic and intense tracks with a noisy landscape to build the tension up. 

The thing that makes me happier is the technical side of the tracks, Stale, which is Kastil’s label it’s growing to approach to the best sound standards and because of this we made together most of the final mixes using hardware and software technics. 

Also, we tried to continue with the artworks from my last records using the art of Trudy Creen, people will never forget that amazing piece for Surgeon’s Breaking the Frame album.

Hope people will enjoy the record as i enjoyed creating it and learning in this process.

Protagonist status in one city is high praise indeed; holding key stakes in several is something else entirely. Something that Spanish born and Scottish bred Dave Tarrida can boldly claim. 

Tarrida’s timeline begins in 1991 in Edinburgh as founder and resident of the now legendary Sativa club. Here’s where Dave met Neil Landstrumm, Tobias Schmidt and Cristian Vogel, becoming a foursome that would continue to share gigs—the others live, Dave as DJ—and labels—like Tresor, Scandinavia, Mosquito and Sativae—for the first half of their respective careers. In 1994 the club bore Sativae Recordings, which Dave manned together with Steve Glencross, spawning the sibling Drought Records imprint two years later. Around the same time Dave took to the studio, though it would be another few more years before any records would materialise.

1999 was a turning point that saw Dave return to his native Barcelona, where he would spend the following eleven years honing his production craft and exceptional deck-side manner with local residences at Moog (which he still frequents today) and Nitza, as well as Stardust in Madrid. It was the same year that Tresor released his first solo record, ‘Postmortem Pop EP’, having debuted the year prior in collaboration with Tobias Schmidt on ‘The Test EP’. He produced two albums during this period: ‘Paranoid’ in 2001 for Tresor, and ‘Life’s a Glitch’ three years later—Sativae’s final record.

In 2010 Dave relocated again, this time to Vienna where he is currently based. After two decades of happily playing the role of DJ and promoter, 2013 sees Dave shift focus back on his own productions with the unveiling of his brand new label AUTOFAKE and pending releases for Housemeister’s soon-to-be re-launched All You Can Beat stable, and Funk D'Void’s Outpost Records. Saying that, he hasn’t quite hung up the headphones just yet. As the saying goes: you can take the DJ out of the club, but you can’t take the club out of the DJ—expect to see the name Dave Tarrida on many a flyer to come.
