**Production Notes**

Netlabel Remixes for the Disquiet Junto are always nice - in my hands, they tend to become beats ranging from 90 to 120 bpm. This one's 104 bpm.

All the sounds were made from the material provided. The samples were used for all the drums, drumloops and gnarly melody loops. 

Well, I cheated a bit and rendered one MIDI melody / bassline from the original sample material. Ableton Live does that magic trick. Took an 303 wannabe emulation I built several weeks ago in Live. The rest was twisting knobs and trying to get the levels right.

4 hours of work. My ears bleed. Tired now. Good nite.

Last Kiss, Lingering

after downloading and listening to the three tracks (which are all excellent in their own right) I cut  out the bits required and looped parts pitchshifted parts and drank beer.
then i relooped and resampled parts, a bit of panning here and there and more beer eventually I ended up with this, which is exactly what I really wanted in the first place.

happiness is wanting what you have, eh?

Disquiet Junto Project 161: Netmix Relabel
The Assignment: Create a new track from three tracks from three different netlabels.

Planning/Composing/Recording
- The track samples were all very percussive in nature, so for whatever reason, I wanted to derive sounds from the tracks to create a less percussive piece.
- The two drone type tracks were two of the samples run through Ambient_v.3.
- The one percussion track was a cut of one of the tracks done in Renoise.
- The keys, base and melody tracks were made by taking the Ambient tracks and putting them in Izotope Iris. 
- Mixdown was done in Renoise.
- Evantide Ultrachannel was used on most of the tracks and the mix bus. EQ and Valhalla reverb applied in spots. A slow phaser was put on the melody track.

If I Could Store Time In A Bottle Of Syrup (naviarhaiku351)

My 33 1/3 series book about the Aphex Twin album <i>Selected Ambient Works Volume II</i> was published in 2014. The book was one of the top 5 bestselling titles for the calendar year, and in 2015 was ranked by Pitchfork as one of the "33 best" of the 100-plus books in the 33 1/3 series. It has subsequently been translated into Japanese (2019) and Spanish (2018)

Since 2012 I have moderated the Disquiet Junto group, which began on SoundCloud. More at disquiet.com/junto. 

I've written for Nature, Pitchfork, The Wire, Down Beat, Boing Boing, NewMusicBox, Red Bull Music Academy, Art Practical, the website of The Atlantic, and many other publications. 

I've exhibited sound art at galleries in Los Angeles (Crewest), Manhattan (apex art), and Dubai (DUTAC), and I had a audio-visual installation at the San Jose Museum of Art as part of its 45th anniversary.

And since 1996 I've run the website Disquiet.com about the intersection of sound, art, and technology.

I create Ambient, Electronic, Jazz Fusion, and Blues music - sometimes melding any of those forms together. Instruments, field recordings, a rare voice, writing code, and whatever else might sound cool are used.
