Mannix keeps his strong 2021 run going collaborating with VillaLife on a very tasty rework of Junior's 1982 international hit Mama Used To Say which was a top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Drafting in the crazy talents of Andre Espeut on vocals and DJ Meme on remix duties it's a superb rework combining the talents of everyone involved for a track which will be one of the soundtracks of BBQ's boat and pool parties all summer long. A side : "Everybody, Free Your Body", a classic modern soul tune revised with a disco twist (originally "Get On Down" by The Dells).

B side : "Don't You Know, Baby", a soul/funk party banger, with more percussive drums (originally "Don't Cha Know" by L.T.D).

Both tracks have been edited, re-drummed, and re-mastered for a stronger impact on the dancefloor, but always keeping the essence of the originals.

Guitarist Al Mckay was a member of Earth Wind & Fire throughout the 70s, arguably their most fertile period. He co-wrote their biggest hit "September" as well as the Emotions classic "Best of My Love”. 

These days he tours with his own band the Al Mckay Allstars. "Heed The Message" has the flavour of classic EW&F but is an entirely newly produced song complete with a full live sound. 

Joey Negro has re arranged the song with new beats, bass and additional dancefloor energy.
