Next up on ZR is some pure old school piano house action with authentic jacking beats and stuttered vocals.

First up is the Joey Negro Chicago Tribute Mix which references back to several classic tracks complete with dubbed out David Cole style solos and fluttering handclaps.

City Soul Project provide a more straight up modern house track with a distinctly 90's flavour, while the JN Warehouse Mix strips things back and makes the most of the hypnotic elements.

Those who've road tested "Get In 2 The Music" confirm its a definite floor rocker.

Crackazat - Eye Light

The Stargazer EP is one of the most obscure releases from the  ZR back catalogue. Originally coming out in 1995 it was still disco styled but also influenced by Detroit and UK techno. Derek Jamerson RIP (who released some music on the Underground Resistance subsidory Happy) lived in the UK played some of the keys. SoulFire was maybe the best track and has now been ever so slightly tweaked for this free download. ENJOY

Sean's "It's Time" album was universally well received in the house community, and rightly so, it was a strong debut featuring an array of talented vocalist and strong songs.

For this EP the tracky 90's style ‘Holding On’ gets reworked by Crackazat who keeps the original vibe adding Smack Productions style keys and his trademark jazzy, warm production to Sean’s original. Crackazat has come to the attention of dj’s including Disclosure, Detroit Swindle and Homework through his releases on Futureboogie and more recently Sweden’s Local Talk where he released his latest album ‘Crescendo’.

Released earlier this year, Atjazz's remix of ‘Reach Out’ feat. Hannah Khemoh was universally well received and supported by Danny Tenaglia, Tensnake, Tony Humphries, Golf Clap, Rainer Trueby and more. Joey Negro has done his own edit of Atjazz's mix focusing on the groove and BV's.

Sean completes the remix package with his own broken dub take on ‘Finally’ featuring vocals from Taliwa.

Sean McCabe sees more standout vocal cuts from his 'It’s Time' album get the remix treatment, this time by Art of Tones and John Morales

Art of Tones aka Llorca has been releasing music for some years now finding homes for his productions on labels such as Local Talk, 2020 Vision, F Communications, House of Disco and Room With A View. His of organ led remix of 'Everything's Alright' harks back to the New Jersey garage sound emphasising Erik Dillard’s vocals over a MAW style heavily swung beat.

John Morales really needs little introduction as he’s been a stalwart on the New York music scene since the mid 70’s. His M+M Mixes albums for BBE include his reworkings of pretty much every major recording artist of his era. He continues to be prolific in the studio and for ZR he extends the boogie style 'Love For Life' to over 9 minutes.

Sean completes the remixes with his own more hypnotic stripped back Dub of 'Everything’s Alright' that is based around the intro groove of the original.

"Let Me" caught the ear of ZR so we've licensed it and employed Sean McCabe to give it a brand new 4/4 treatment. Three mixes, straight up sophisticated soulful house on the Main Vocal Mix, a more tracky housed up Let Me Out Dub, whilst the Classic Soul mix is more laid back utilising some of the originals musical elements.

Originally from Bristol UK, Ben J Worrall aka Crackazat is a musician, producer and composer, with a formal background in jazz composition. Now relocated to Sweden, where he releases through the Local Talk label, his productions and remixes have been gaining support from Disclosure, Detroit Swindle, Homework.

For his Period Works EP for ZR he searched the extensive catalogue of ZR accapella's and blended parts of them to create three slamming new productions.

"Universal Love" hits the right balance between the classic house sound and Crackazat's trademark warm, jazzy take on electronic music. "What You're Feeling" heads into more classic piano house territory with low-slung disco beats, while "Crystal Eyes" goes for futuristic chords with funk led guitars over a big bass groove.

Chicago DJ and producer Chrissy is set to launch his new label Cool Ranch, an outlet that will focus on the classic house of his native city.

Following releases on Classic, Freerange, Razor & Tape and La Mission, Chrissy takes a break from his duties running his label The Nite Owl Diner to launch Cool Ranch. The Smartbar resident now plans to deliver the raw essence of house on white label, limited, hand-stamped, vinyl-only releases via the new imprint.

On the inaugural release titled 'Cool Ranch 001', Chrissy delivers two originals, one of which is a slamming house track titled ‘We Ain't Goin Nowhere’. It’s a catchy disco-tinged melody, one that will undoubtedly inject life into any dancefloor.

When discussing the vision behind Cool Ranch, Chrissy revealed that it’s mainly about feel-good tracks: “This record, and the new label as a whole, are all about fun, happy-sounding party cuts. With all the negativity and too-cool-for-school posturing in the dance music scene, and the ever-darkening political climate weighing down on us all, sometimes it feels really important to have songs that sound joyous and positive and resilient, yknow?”

'Cool Ranch 001' is set for release on May 5 and also includes a remix from rising Detroit producer Pontchartrain.

Layo & Bushwacka are set to release the first wave of material from their forthcoming long-player ‘Rising & Falling’, with a remix package of the track ‘Dancing In The Dark’. Contributions come from Guy Gerber& DJ Tennisand Audiofly, and constitute a package that leaves the listener with a building anticipation for subsequent releases from the album, which will be out this Autumn.

With the original version of ‘Dancing in the Dark’ being kept under wraps until the continuous long-player of new material is released, Layo &Bushwacka! will release this impressive remix package as a special album precursor.  Each remix provides an impressive take on the original, each with the artist’s respective signature sounds.

For the first remix Guy Gerber has joined forces with DJ Tennis of Life and Death Records, a label that has extensive success lately with their releases in the bags of everyone from Visionquest to Michael Mayer. Tennis, akaManfredi Romano,is a long time sound-track producer who formed Life and Death with Greg Oreck of Thugfucker. 
The remixis one of warm synths, crisp kicks, and circling melodies. A fine display of Gerber and Romano’s joint talents, this is a remix that will serve DJ’s from a plethora of stylistic predilections. 

Londoners Audiofly serve up a typically deep, chugging and dark remix that exemplifies their current musical output. Moody riffs and subtle idiosyncrasiesproduce an environment in which the listener is effortlessly transported to a dance-floor consciousness.
