Audiokev started DJing House, Deep House, Tech and Progressive in 2000.

Since 2007 he has been operating sound systems for live bands and major dance parties in Auckland.
The first dance party he worked on was "Future Music" where he had the pleasure of meeting Carl Cox. The sound check was at 4.30pm and Cox  turned up with a brand new "Carl Cox Vestax" mixer fresh from the factory, 90 minutes later, after many cool tracks and a lot of talk the system was tuned to perfection.
He then worked for Slinky, Our House, Floorgasm  and was resident Audio Engineer at Studio running the massive EV system from Inertia Sound and Light.

In 2008 Audiokev started a residency at The Supper Club in Auckland City, playing the Sunday 3am-6am and 12am – 6am slots he show cases a range of styles from Deep House to Minimal Techno. He includes Tech House, Electro and Progressive House in his sets and mixes with an intensity that creates real excitement on the dance floor.
Audiokev and Deez Ashford(Bedrock) play back to back most weekends at The Supper Club. They have broadened their range of music so you may hear Drum&Bass, Breaks, Hip Hop, and Dubstep, along with the usual Tech House, Progressive, Techno and Deep House.

In mid 2010 Audiokev was fortunate to meet Argentinean born producer/DJ Lucas Tesselhoff and formed a loose partnership playing back to back and variations of this. "Our music is complementary and we understand each other even though there is huge a language barrier".
The highlight for Lucas and Audiokev was playing at the Butter Bank in Whangarei, a place not known for entertainment venues. What was experienced was truly the best atmosphere a nightclub could offer, filled with the most passionate, happy and genuine people you could meet.

Audiokev's goal is to stimulate clubbers with the freshest music, producing the cleanest, punchiest sound possible so the dance floor is always going off.
Before playing a gig it is not unusual to find Audiokev tuning the sound system as he strives for perfection. "I am always concerned for the punters hearing and set up a system to have solid, clear, punchy bass, the mid range powerful but still allowing conversation to take place and the top end clean, soft and sparkly
.
Producing and remixing songs is the next learning curve for Audiokev. He has had a few offers to collaborate so fingers crossed.


Ferksta (AUM)
Fat, chunky, emotive, and progressive music with a psychedelic twist defines Ferksta’s sound. Expect lush organic soundscapes and atmospheric journeys intertwined with driving basslines, a style characterised by blind “that'll do” track selections and a madman’s approach to pancake layering of tracks. Ferksta is known for his quirky personality, rainbow coloured clothing and crushed velvet shorts. They’re really soft to the touch. Confused yet? If you’re planning to be in front of the speakers when he plays, buckle up. It’s going to get weird.

A recognizable figure in our local dance industry as the creator and co-owner of AUM Festival, and the legendary Velvet parties, and playing music for over 300 years. Had to read that bit again didn't you?

I started listening to music in the 60's I was around 8 or 9 when The Beatles broke through and changed EVERYTHING. 
Motown was and is still a huge part of what I listen to now.
I moved up to Reggae and Dub, old school producers like Lee Scratch Perry, King Tubby and Niney Holness in the 70's.
Got a taste for Classical music, like Beethoven's  9th, Saint-Saëns and Wendy Carlos' electronic music around that time.
New stuff I listen to are Duffy, Adele, Elbow

I was a relative newbie to creating music, currently still self- learning music theory and how to get the best out of Image Line Studio 21
For 3 years upto 2012, I tried to create good music. Some of my early tracks are very poor but you gotta start somewhere.
For the biggest influence on my own creativity I would say Lee Perry and King Tubby, with the beautiful melodica sounds from Augustus Pablo.
Busy Works Beats had a lot to with me getting creative again.

For 5 or 6 years I had personal issues and never got near to being able to create much at all.
But those issues are resolved and near Isolation has meant I can go back and revisit the abandoned work. Some of which is on my youTube channel
