Here is the first musicking soundscape meditation for the sunset and full moonrise in Mt Shasta. This has become a tradition in the summer seeing these full moonrises from a kayak or boat on Lake Siskiyous.This the tradition was modified, still sharing it with friends, but this time with an open vista of Mt Shasta at the Gateway trailhead. The intention for this meditation is "presence". We hope you can take this energy and being fully in this moment and reflect on these cycles of life.

Today's birthday sound meditation intention is focused on forgiveness. As I was performing and reflecting on this past year, a humming bird flew by. This was a magical spirit animal for me while I was living in Mexico and took it as a sign for what I was thinking at that moment. So this coming year's intention will be "Forgiveness brought by a Alebrije Colibri"

I was blessed to be surrounded by such close friends and the beauty of nature where I now live on my birthday. My wish was to be able to facilitate community again on my birthday after these past months of not being able to do this in person for so long. These great group of friends helped me facilitate this gathering of food, friends, nature, and musicking in a safe way. I hope to all who were there in spirit can enjoy this musicking gift also. Social Distancing Birthday Musicking

I have been loving seeing how community is created with natural rare event happen. I have been walking through Sisson Meadow at night and loving talking with the various people who have been watching the comet neowise. Last night I ran into Jane Seeley who recently had a birthday so I offered her this sound meditation as a gift to her. She set the intention of the sound meditation to "Clearing the Way". Thank you Sisson Meadow and Comet Neowise for clearing the way in our minds to facilitate community watching this amazing natural phenomenon.

Clearing the Way

Had a great day reconnecting with my father and hiking to one of my favorite spots in Mt Shasta, Heart Lake. It overlooks Castle Lake and the view of Black Butte and Mt Shasta couldn't be beat. We came up to this place to record our addition to the 'Multiverse Bubble Skipping' Virtual Burning Man Processional Band project. We prepare for the playa each year hiking and biking to get in shape and also to get used to the heat of the desert. This was a good ritual remembering those times and reconnecting with the set and setting to our annual pilgrimage to the playa. 

On the hike we remembered how we used to hike during Boy Scout trips and how we used to gallop down the hillside at points. So it was only fitting when MacGyver (my fathers Playa name) started to gallop down the mountain we christened him with the addition to his playa name. Here is to the magic and collective effervescence that we experience at Black Rock City.

Breathing in....

Today's sound meditation intention is directed to sending energy into a symbol - Bob Ross concept of 'Happy Trees'. At the College of the Siskiyous, we celebrate "Bob Ross Thursdays" where faculty and staff wear Bob Ross shirts and share different Bob Ross quotes with our classes. We try to use his mantras on life as a teaching tool for that day. 

In ritual theory we can store emotional energy into symbols which we can call on into the future. I am sending this energy forward into charging our 'Happy Trees' to help create solidarity in the up coming semester.

Happy Bob Ross Thursdays and I can't wait create music with all of you in the coming semester.

We reflected on the joys and lessons learned over the year during a great sunset birthday IPA tasting on my deck. Attention to the Right Direction - Deep Playa Wonderings 2020

Spent a beautiful afternoon of music and friendship with Jean-Marie and friends celebrating who new sanctuary space of a tepee on her property that Greg built for her.
