This is the place to find great songs by artists and bands in every genre, and learn a little more about them.
Songs are chosen by what comes into the dropbox, so please don't send links to your music on other sites. I listen to everything I receive, and will try to always write a short review of the song that is chosen, and a little bit about the artist/band. 

I called it "Songs that Don't Suck, for reasons that might seem obvious, but maybe not. I have this theory about music. There are two kinds: good and bad. And it is really, really easy to make both kinds of music and get songs in front of just about anyone these days. It can be next to impossible for excellent artists to get heard through the music that is...not as excellent.

So, when I hear songs that I think don't suck, I want to tell everyone I know about them. Ergo: Songs that Don't Suck.

About me: I am an award winning, twice Grammy© nominated singer/songwriter with 8 records and multiple singles released under Holly Figueroa and Holly O'Reilly, and various permutations of that name. (Don't ask.)

I am also a columnist, and have written for the now defunct Rockrgrl Magazine and as a guest writer for multiple music related newspapers, magazines and blogs. I'm a producer, and volunteer as a mentor and hip hop/rap/R&amp;B produce/engineer for underserved youth. I started Indiegrrl (<a href="http://indiegrrl.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">indiegrrl.com</a>) for women in the independent music industry, in 1998, and left the company to help run Cake Records in 2005. I now own my own label and entertainment company (Grievous Angels Entertainment and Even Field Recordings).
I am a tech and politics junkie. I live in Seattle and have 2 kids and two 2 step kids.
