Mhost Likely co-owner and Norwegian producer Gordon Joe debuts on Mhost Likely Green with a new single that includes remixes from Henrik Villard and Keecen. Gordon Joe "seeks to collect the musical pollen from the lush ecosystem of Norway." He has a background as a studio producer and an ear for intricate sound design. He has worked with singer/songwriter sensation Aurora and has recorded for Eskimo Recordings. Inspired by a pool of influences, including ambient, electro and house, he crafts music with a rich subtlety and variety of moods that are all demonstrated on his debut single for Mhost Likely. The inspiration to make ‘Luminous’ came one summer morning when the artist flipped through clips from old anime TV series, making him nostalgic for a worry-free childhood. He says, "Gordon Joe is a personal project all about communicating my inner emotions through music. With ‘Luminous’ as my first original release, I can confidently say that this represents me and what I wish to pursue." The excellent 'Luminous' is a captivating record that taps into an indie-electronica sphere, filled with a beautiful blend of dreamy melodies that spiral up to the heavens. They bring heart-tugging emotions that take you on an endlessly uplifting journey. Remixer Henrik Villard hails from Oslo and is a deep house phenomenon who fuses warm grooves, lo-fi samples and flowing piano lines on labels such as Moskalus, Tooman, Beatservice and more. His version is a hazy slice of house music that evokes a feeling of hopefulness with shimmering vocals harking back to a classic era of UKG. Lastly, Keecen hails from the edge of the Arctic Circle and is paving a new path for Tromsø-based artists. The Nordic funk star releases under various aliases on Full Pupp, Beatservice and Paper Recordings and takes us on a Flume-esque trip through subtle and downtempo dreamscapes. 'Luminous' is a superb showcase of contemporary Scandinavian sounds.

Amsterdam's LOVE APE joins us for our eighth release, bringing his organic and melodic production to the Sawah Indah EP. Inspired by a visit to Bali, the tropical atmosphere infects each track with a warmth and depth, showcasing the producer's talent for creating a mood that's both languid and energised. 'Beachnap' could be a lost DFC Records classic, channeling the famous Italian label's best dreamy house moments with a track that is pure modern balearica. Breathy vocals and organic melodies kiss together as heavenly rhodes keys lead the dance. 'Dance With The Apes' chugs into late night territory; with intoxicating swirling synths, ethnic percussion and a steamy ambience that drives the tension up. 'Ricefields' is a deeper, contemplative jam again rich in atmosphere. Joe Morris chills the mood out further on 'Beachnap', slowing the tempo while sprinkling a touch of acid for a mellow remix to complement the deep red sun as it dips behind a sparkling horizon. Gold Suite completes the Indonesian connection, the Bali based artist turns out a superlative reworking of 'Dance With The Apes'. With great musicality and structure, additional guitars and strings are brought to the fore making for an emotive and joyful finish to the release.

2021 Oram Award Winner Lia Mice is a multidisciplinary artist whose works includes experimental electronic music production, large-scale digital musical instrument design and live A/V performance.

Lia Mice’s fourth album ‘Sweat Like Caramel’ (Objects Limited) was produced with a sense of fun and escapism, with nods to the eighties and to the Japanese band Yellow Magic Orchestra. Created during lockdown, Lia Mice imagined the feeling of finally returning to the dancefloor, being covered in sweat so thick, "sticky like caramel, sweet like molasses". 

All eight tracks on ‘Sweat Like Caramel’ showcase Lia Mice’s unique sound palette and creativity which cleverly mixes futuristic experimental techno pop, electro, and industrial music with vibrant production to produce an exhilarating, highly original album. ‘Sweat Like Caramel’ features Lia Mice’s own voice sampling and some of the instruments that Lia Mice has designed herself, including her latest instrument, ‘Chaos Bells’, a large (2 metre x 2 metre) sculptural instrument with 20 pendulums that produce bell-like chimes and chaotic drones.
