Like so many others out there, I'm a huge fan of Tom Waits for his songwriting and performances. And this song is one of his earlier beauties, simple and direct. Such a story teller, a scene painter and the master of the story within the story, the acceptance and resignation. The lover of pretty things in a shadowy world. I recorded this quick and dirty on my iPhone, no mic, just the basic song...because I love singling it.

Track 2 of Fate's Mistake EP. Went deep into the drum rhythms on this track. I actually made 2 separate kits to play around with on the Synthstrom Deluge. Bass chords were a from scratch patch I made on the Deluge. Lead was from the Arturia MicroFreak.
