Whatever ur two cents, the car crash seems to be our unequivocal condition.

There's no question in the remarkable quality of the musical outputs that Melbourne has to offer. Every now and then however, something truly special comes across your musical desk. For me, one of the most exciting projects to come of 2020 is Acopia.

Acopia brings together three local Melbourne musicians @purient, @liluzu and @morganwright, commendable all in their individual endeavours, but together converge to showcase a contemporary incarnation of stripped back, emotional synth pop reminiscent of the 80s. Their debut EP 'For You I Try' is everything I love packaged in two neat little arrangements, warm yet melancholy and worthy of a tear or two. Acopia's less is more approach to music will no doubt see them flourish into their bright future. I'm counting down the days until we can see Acopia take the stage live, but for now Lachie, Kate, and Morgan joined me for a chat and one hour guest mix, broadcast live on PBS Melbourne for Passing Notes episode 81.

I met Natalia for the first time in 2019, through an event she hosted and have been lucky to have her in my life since! She is a thoughtful and community minded artist, constantly contributing and connecting artists together. 
Natalia also hosts her own month show ‘Outer Vein’ on Bristol based, Noods Radio, where she focuses on showcasing new music of all genres from across the globe.

Welcome back to our new mix and feature program. CSS072 features Detroit, Pure Rave. Pure Rave, a collective based in Detroit, Michigan, is an ongoing experiment in "chance dance". Using various prepared turntables, "damaged" records, the occasional drum machine, the effect is an indeterminate arrangement of patterns and rhythmic sonic collage. Real-time experimentation with the goal of hitting your pleasure center for whatever your brain thinks is interesting. This 90 minute mix is composed by using various records on two prepared turntables and one cdj to create asynchronous loops and mixing those down together to make the "tracks" you hear on the mix.
