“The Beautiful is that which is well-formed and aesthetically pleasing, whereas the Sublime is that which has the power to compel and destroy us. The preference for the Sublime over the Beautiful drove us to create what sometimes feels out of place. Formed in 2013, Hong Kong, David Boring is named after the unlikely hero from Daniel Clowes's cult classic graphic novel. Signatured with their dirty, experimental noise, male-female interlacing dialogues and the enigmatically cathartic live performances, DB experiments in ways that both confront and empathise with the modern world, revealing a dark, claustrophobic world that either excites or traumatises. Since the release of their debut album in 2017, DB went from being an underground cult favourite, to exploding into the international radar. The band's bold and unique appeal drew the attention of international critics, music lovers, and the cultural crowd.
