This set was played at Beat Church Asheville at the Galaxy Room. It was a magical evening with some dear friends. The theme of the set touches upon many heart strings, ranging from the fires of desire and passion, to the laments of losing love and self. Be prepared to go deep, and to let something go in the process.

There's an elongated soft landing to sooth the emotions and bring us all back to a place of nurturing acceptance for what is. With love and gratitude, to the one's we've loved and the one's we've lost. May we carry them all in our hearts. <3

Westside Anthems EP

This is a song I wrote for my hometown of Lahaina, Hawaii. Back in the day, Lahaina was a place of abundance with streams flowing through the town bringing water to crops like taro, breadfruit and coconuts. Over the years that water source was diverted to feed sugarcane and pineapple plantations and, later, resorts and golf courses, leaving Lahaina to become the hot and dry place I knew my entire life. On august 8th, 2023, a wildfire raged through west Maui and taking from us our Ohana along with most of Lahaina town. Homes, schools, churches, buildings that stood for centuries are all gone but, unlike the many precious lives that also lost, these things can be restored. The streams that once fed Lahaina, allowing it to be such a place of abundance that the King Kamehameha chose it for the capital of his newly formed island kingdom, the streams can also be restored. Much was lost over the centuries before the fires and now much of those things have an opportunity to be restored. The homes and businesses will be rebuilt, the trees replanted and then some. Through a generational effort, we will restore the environment to what it once was, bringing the clouds back to the Mauka, allowing for the streams of Lahaina, the once lost soul of Lahaina, to flow again. That’s what this song is about.

<p>This is a song a recorded around this time 32 years ago as part of a Xmas tape that I put together for my sister and her family who were living in Japan.It was recorded on a Teac 4-track in a home loft studio at 351 Jay Street in Brooklyn - since torn down to make way for a new Brooklyn Union Gas headquarters (they were really threatening to move to New Jersey!).When this happened I decided to head west across the Brooklyn Bridge and ended up on the island of Maui.
<p>Also on the recording were loftmates John Klett, drums and percussion, and Joe Cerato with Santa voices.The steel drum like solo is by your truly on an Arp 2600.
<p>John Klett was working at Clack Studios at the time and shared the recording with it eventually getting in to the hands of WNEW DJ Vin Selsa who played it Xmas morning twice!I lost track of the recording, but via Google found a post by WFMU DJ Amanda Nazario.

Brian Wilson and The Zombies are touring together!!! I repeat, head Beach Boy Brian Wilson and recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Zombies are touring America together right now! To celebrate these legendary artists sharing the stage, we got 'em together at the first gig of the run for a Talkhouse Podcast conversation.

The Zombies’ songwriter/keyboardist Rod Argent and singer Colin Blunstone roundtable some wonderful ideas with Wilson, fellow Beach Boys founder Al Jardine, 1970s Beach Boys addition Blondie Chaplin (who also plays with The Rolling Stones), and Darian Sahanaja, who’s played with Brian for two decades and was key in the making of the fantastic Smile LP. Their talk takes in the early days of The Beach Boys and The Zombies, and the bands' love of each other's music; challenges in playing songs you haven’t played in 50 years; recording Friends in Brian’s living room; and "balls out" Hammond B3 organ that'd make Argent proud.
